Driver's Superb Job Recognised

MEDIA RELEASE

Driver’s superb job recognised For immediate release: 20 September 2010 Winter weather has been brightened for Go Bus passengers by driver Brian Absalom, named as the Bay of Plenty Regional Council’s ‘Driver of the Season’.

Brian, who has been driving buses for more than 40 years, was presented with the award to recognise his work on Tauranga’s Bay Hopper buses. As well as a certificate, Brian received a $50 supermarket voucher.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council Acting Transport Policy Manager Emlyn Hatch said Brian had been selected for the award based on feedback from passengers on his friendly and professional work ethic.

Go Bus Tauranga operations manager Ashley Burton said Brian’s experience made him a valuable member of the Go Bus team.

“Drivers are the face of the Bay Hopper service and it’s vital they convey the right image to passengers,” Mr Burton said. “Brian does that day-in, day-out.”

Bus passengers with any feedback on drivers can call Baybus on 0800 422928.
