AD Hydro Power Limited wins Prestigious 'Oscar' of Power Industry
New Delhi, October 12, 2012: AD Hydro Power, a LNJ Bhilwara Group company was honored with awards in various categories at the Asian Power Awards ceremony held on October 4, 2012 at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.
The “192 MW Allain Duhangan Hydro Electric Project” of AD Hydro Power Ltd won the Gold Award in the Hydro Power Project of the Year category and also garnered the Bronze Award for the Independent Power Producer of the Year category.
The Asian Power Awards is considered as the ‘Oscar’ of the power industry. It gives recognition to the top achievers in the industry “who relentlessly strive for great quality and excellence in their own categories.” The judges, composed of practitioners and experts in the Asian power market, looked for the “best-of-the-best” practices in Asia's power generation and power supply industries and organizations.
These Awards were received by Mr. O P Ajmera, CEO, ADHPL. Dedicating these awards to the entire project team of ADHPL, Mr. Ajmera said “We are honored to be receiving this recognition. Our highly motivated employees are always happy to follow best practices in delighting both internal and external stakeholders.”
Mr. Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, LNJ Bhilwara Group. and Mr. Erik Knive, EVP (Asia), SN Power were also present on the occasion. SN Power is the foreign partner in 192 MW plant.
The 192 MW Allain Duhangan Hydro Electric Project of AD Hydro Power is a run of river scheme located near Manali in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. This Project has been developed by Malana Power Company Ltd, a JV Company of Bhilwara Energy Ltd and SN Power, Norway. International Finance Corporation (IFC, a part of World Bank) not only participated in part financing the project but also invested into equity of the Company. Besides Domestic Financial institution/ Commercial Banks like IDBI, Axis Bank, OBC, J& K Bank, PNB, PSB and United Bank of India have also financed the Project.
RSW Canada and Indo Canadian Consultancy Services Ltd were the technical consultants to the Project.
