Eric J. Albro Editor

The Milwaukee Deaf Bowling Association is currently the first organization that sponsors this newly deaf local website as the members in this organization voted to support the monthly fees of the GeoCities Plus package, starting last January 2008 for one experimentally year. Good news, they offered me to pay only $3.71 (saved a total amount of $3.72) for the first three months of this year before going back to a $4.95 fee a month, starting this month as the 4th month of the year. By the end of this year, the MDBA will reimburse me a total amount of $65.68 including a one-time setup fee of $10.00 for the whole year in 2008. I am thanking to the MDBA for their generous donation.

My next step is to look for a new-and-next sponsor to aide the cost of the GLDBA program book that I just paid $50.00 from my pocket to advertise this website inside the program book during the GLDBA’s Annual Bowling Tournament at Columbus, Ohio this upcoming April 17-20, 2008. The name of new sponsor will be printed on the front page of this GMDP website indefinitely, next to the name of “MDBA.” The more sponsors on the list will be appreciated because the GMDP Fund can be used for sending more GMDP advertisements to other tournaments or event program books in near future. By the way, the GLDBA stands for “Great Lakes Deaf Bowling Association.” If you want to know more information about the GLDBA organization, just go to this website and click a text box, “GLDBA” and it will show its own website and you allow browsing there for free.

The Greater Milwaukee Deaf Publications is a non-profit publication, however, I still need few people to join and become the members of the GDMP Committees so that I don’t have to do this publication alone at all times. The more members on this committee may help to bring up their brilliant ideas in order to keep this website keep going and survive. The fund from the GMDP may be audited by the MDBA Treasurer and their three trustees annually; however, I will have to ask the MDBA organization first for their generous volunteers. Or any other sponsor is also welcome to audit the GMDP Fiscal Report every year. Perhaps the MDBA may appoint their own delegate to become a member of the GMDP Committees in near future, so other sponsors may send their own delegates to come and become the members of the GMDP Committees, as well as the Board of Trustees? Like I have told you that I do have some many ideas in my mind in the past few months, and there will have some rooms of improvements and more ideas to throw on the pile, and since I am the only one person in the GMDP Committee, and I am the only person who can decide to pick one or few ideas from the piles on the table and use them for this website’s projects. I know you have some 1 better ideas than mine, if you do have your own ideas, then why don’t you join the Committees soon? I can’t work alone, but if no one comes here, then I must do it alone to keep this website survive. Of course, I will feel better when the more people will join and become the Committees, so that I can get some feedbacks from all of you on the Committees.

In one of my other ideas in my mind, when the GMDP Fund will eventually become the plus sign from the minus sign, the money can be used for offsetting the cost of a new package, the GeoCities Pro for increasing the disk space from 500 megabytes to 2,000 megabytes and increasing the data transfer from 25 gigabytes to 100 gigabytes, and our own domain name, such as www.gmdp.org or www.gmdp.com or a new title of this publicized website, for example, I may change the title from “Greater Milwaukee Deaf Publications” to “Wisconsin Deaf Publications.” In that case of a future possible change the name of this website title, then the domain name will be at www.wi-deaf-publ.com or something like that. Right now, the currently package is the GeoCities Plus package that does not include the domain name, so we are forcing to type much longer, such as the www.geocities.com/mdeafbl/bowl. The word of the “mdeafbl” stands for the “Milwaukee Deaf Bowling League” and is the name of the user id. And the word of the “bowl” is just a file name that saved as the front page of the GDMP website. I do have few pages under the front page that are using for those textboxes that are linking to their respective pages.

Furthermore, the plus sign of the GDMP Fund can be used for paying the cost of the program-book-ad fees in near future events, such as the CAAD Softball Tournament, the NBAD Bowling Tournament, the CSBAD Bowling Tournament, or any other deaf events that provide in distributing their program books. Or the GMDP advertisement may be put in other deaf websites, too. There may be more unexpected expenses in near future, such as transportation fees, mileages, exhibition fees, or any other necessary expenses, and those unexpected expenses can be reimbursed by the GMDP Fund, as long as the GDMP website shall be remained as the non-profit publication. The GMDP Committees or the GMDP Board of Trustees may change this program as a profit publication from a non-profit publication in few years later, or maybe never. The GMDP bylaw is opened and blanked, so the definitions and ratifications may be written onto the bylaw and the rules and regulations shall begin from there.

Why will the GMDP website need more donations or more money in the Fund? The www.youtube.com is one of the vlog (video-log) programs that the GMDP website may be needed few textboxes of vlog films, so when you open the GMDP website, you can click one of its vlog textboxes, and it will go to a different website, the www.youtube.com and its connection for that specified textbox. The span of the vlog time (one film) can take up to five minutes, and it may take a lot of megabytes

2 in this film, however, the disk space in the YouTube center can store this film for us. It will not affect the GeoCities (mdeafbl’s) disk space of only 500 megabytes (MB), so the YouTube center has its own disk spaces for their different users. Since I am thinking of putting the vlog programs inside the GMDP website’s textboxes, so when you will click the vlog textbox, it will automatically go to the YouTube center and find what its GeoCities textbox at the YouTube’s disk-space bank. When the parameters of the specified filename will find their matches in the YouTube’s memory space and it will run up to a five-minute vlog program. This is just an example, but I still don’t know the cost of the YouTube program. Like I said, I can’t do it alone, if there is nobody in the GMDP Committees. Like I said, if you don’t succeed, try and try again. I just opened the YouTube.com website, but I did not find how it would work. All I know is that my personal computer will need its components in order to fit the YouTube program’s needful things, such as installing a camera above atop the computer monitor (used to be known as cathode ray terminal, but now the modern monitor is now known as the LCD, the liquid crystal display, the component or device of the whole personal computer. And then, when you have a camera in ready, then you will need to download an internet communication program (i.e. Skype) and install this program into your personal computer, and then, you can sign-up the YouTube program. You will just then go to www.youtube.com to set up a new vlog filename there, and then, you will save this filename. And then, you will go to the GeoCities program to edit a new textbox and link it to the YouTube filename for free. Downloading the Skype program is also free. The only cost is the camera, itself, so it will probably cost in the range of $80 and $150. Anyone can do this vlog film at his or her own personal computer, and anyone can send me its filename, and the linked textbox at the GMDP website will be typed as a YouTube filename.

One of my other ideas is the photographical pictures on the GMDP website, or maybe I should try to set up another internet program, the Kodak.com. From the textbox in the GMDP website can link to a specified group in the www.kodak.com or www.flickr.com website and hook up to a specified filename, too, just like the vlog system. I have a friend of mine, who has experienced in editing his own album at home, and he set up a linking line to all of his friends to see his pictures by going to the photo gallery and hook up to his filename there and they were able to see the pictures in his album. I think the GMDP website can do this photo gallery, too. Again, I will have to learn how to do this project on my own free time if I can find a time to do it. The CAAD website has a motion film, and I think this is really COOL. The other websites showed you the vlog films, too, so it is really AWESOME.
