Stephen Fox Middle School Chorus Conductor Stephen Fox has been a frequent guest conductor in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania for various festivals ranging from elementary through high school. After teaching public school for 14 years, he is now teaching at the college level, and serves as choral director for the Women’s Choir at Fordham University and as a private voice instructor for CAP 21/Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Mr. Fox has also served as musical director on college productions at Queens College and Marymount Manhattan College. Outside of his teaching, he is also a composer/arranger, and has written for Macy’s Annual Events in New York City. His work has been heard in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, Macy’s Tap-O-Mania, and the Holiday Parade at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Fox holds a masters degree in Choral Conducting from Mansfield University, studying under Dr. Peggy Dettwiler.

David Shover Elementary School Chorus Conductor One month following his graduation from Messiah College in 1985, Mr. Shover began his teaching career in the Camp Hill School District as director of the Senior High Instrumental and Vocal Music Departments. In 1987, Mr. Shover decided to turn his focus solely towards his main passion…vocal music, and became the MS/HS Vocal Music Director. In 1991, Mr. Shover received his Masters Degree in Education from Wilkes University. He is currently doing post-graduate work at Edinboro University. In addition to directing the MS and HS Choruses and Ensembles, he teaches 6th and 7th grade General Music classes as well as Music Theory & Composition. He directs three select extra-curricular vocal ensembles – T he Senior High Mixed Ensemble, The Middle School Mixed Ensemble, and the Camp Hill Vocal Jazz Ensemble. In addition to teaching, he serves as the Music Worship Leader at the Camp Hill United Methodist Church leading the Worship Team and Praise Band. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his family and pursuing his two favorite hobbies – hunting and fishing. This is Mr. Shover’s 24th year teaching in Camp Hill. In the past, he has been invited to guest conduct County Choral Festivals in Perry and Dauphin counties, and also served as guest conductor for the PMEA District 8 Elementary Songfest in Lycoming County. He would like to thank the parents of all students in today ’s festival as well as the Elementary Choral Directors of Dauphin County for the privilege and opportunity to work with these amazing youngsters.

Dr. Rodney H. Caldwell, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Susquehanna University, holds the Cyril M. Stretansky Distinguished Professorship Chair in Choral Music.The Professorship, established in 2001 to honor the service of Susquehanna’s former Director of Choral Activities, is the first Endowed Chair in Fine Arts at the university. Prior to his appointment to the faculty at Susquehanna, Dr. Caldwell spent thirteen years as Director of Choral Activities at Georgia Southern University and five years as Director of Choral Music at Ulysses Junior and Senior High Schools in Western Kansas.His choirs have appeared on numerous MENC and ACDA conference programs, and have toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe.In May 2007, Dr. Caldwell made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut leading the New England Symphonic Ensemble and Honor Choir in a performance of the Fauré Requiem.

Dr. Caldwell earned his BM in Music Education from Luther College (with Weston Noble) and his MM and DMA in Conducting from the University of Arizona (with Maurice Skones, Kenneth Jennings, Tom Hilbish, and Jerry McCoy).Dr. Caldwell is an active guest conductor and clinician, and has held numerous leadership positions in ACDA and MENC.He is currently the Reading Session Chair for the 2009 National ACDA Conference in Oklahoma City.
