H. Johnson asked S. Broughton to look into previous water cooler orders and query refund for returned empty water bottles.

5. Treasurers Report

H. Johnson explained that S. Broughton has finally been added to the Lloyds bank account after a frustrating and time consuming process. H. Johnson confirmed that Lloyds bank has donated £50 to the Patient Participation Group.

The Clay Cross branch is closing in early September so H. Johnson will need to bank at the branch in Chesterfield.

The main expense is the cost to Water Coolers Direct, as shown on the Financial Report for 2017 a total of £407.45 was spent on water for both sites.

6. PRG/ PPG Events

J. Kirby attended a recent Hardwick CCG meeting and it was confirmed that the Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) programme has overspent by 4.4 million. The Hardwick CCG is reviewing its current procedures; especially those with limited clinical value to try recuperate money. One of the CCG’s projects is to streamline the prescribing of generic drugs and promote over the counter supply for certain drugs, such as paracetamol.

The cancer care unit at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital has now opened and the feedback is really positive. 7. Surgery News

The surgery is working closely with colleagues from Chesterfield Royal Hospital following the transition to the arm’s length organisation, Royal Primary Care.

I. Barlow said around six weeks ago the Derbyshire Times published an article about the best and worst surgeries voted by patient, it was disappointing to know that Blue Dykes surgery was bottom. ACTION: S. Broughton to source the article.

8. Patient Complaints

S. Broughton informed members that since the last meeting there have been a total of two complaints, both were written and mostly concerned about the appointment system. S. Broughton explained that over the past few months there has been staff sickness which is the reason for patient appointment being moved or cancelled. We are working closely with Royal Primary Care to improve the appointment system.

9. Any Other Business

None.

Meeting Closed 19:55.

The next Patient Participation Group meeting is scheduled for Thursday 13th July 2017 at Clay Cross, please inform S. Broughton of apologies.
