Fre[linghuysen Township PTO Meeting MINUTES Thursday, March 9, 2017  CALL TO ORDER  The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.

*2 APPROVAL OF TREASURER’S REPORT *3 1st motion – Gene Jones; 2nd motion – Abby Gurba: Report approved.

*4 FUNDRAISER/COMMITTEE EVENTS UPDATE

Book Fair – Was for three days and went well. We had less volunteers then in the past. $3,716 Total was sold. We can choose Scholastic Dollars or cash. We get 25% in cash or 50% in Scholastic dollars. Shannon will review what we have in Scholastic dollars and our budget and decide which we should take this time.

Book Bingo – The event well. Approximately 50 kids attended. Maybe change the time next year to be 4:30- 6:00. Two hours too long.

Gertrude Hawk – All good. Orders to be delivered on March 20th.

Cookbook Fundraiser/ Voting for Cover – Not enough recipes submitted. It was voted by all in attendance to cancel this fundraiser due to lack of recipes and orders.

 UPCOMING EVENTS:

 BOGO Book Fair – Will be May 23-25th. Volunteers will be needed.  Artist in Residency – Abby Gurba presented some ideas. Window Stained Glass; each classroom would work on their classroom windows. Self Portrait Wall Art; Can be sent home at the end of the year. Sound Boards in the All-Purpose Room; Can use Fabric Paints. The board to look into other ideas as well.  Plant Sale – Gene will chair. Same as last year. Riverside will be used. Pre-orders need to be in the first week of April.  Teacher Appreciation Week – First week of May - Plant Sale certificate, Build your own train mix bar to set up for the teachers. Stacy to work on the display case for appreciation. Stacy will man a table during lunch the week before and have the kids write notes to the teachers.

 OTHER BUSINESS:

Spirit Wear – will be done by website set up by Imagepoint. All orders will be ordered on the website and arrive at the school for delivery ready to be distributed. Looking into changing the items available to be more spring/summer wear. Field Day – Will be held on May 22nd. Donna Kronen to chair the event. Shannon to co-chair with Donna unless we get another volunteer to offer to chair. This is Donna’s last year and need her knowledge passed down. Lenore to handle the t-shirt orders and the Blue/White teams with the teachers.

Tent for graduation/Kindergarten promotion – Tri-State and Grand Rental Station have been contacted regarding quotes on prices for rental.

Scholarship Applications – have been submitted and are being reviewed by the board for voting.
