1. Student Hello Message

Hello We are thirteen or fourteen years old. We live in Lu- Chou in Taipei. We do many things in our free time, such as going shopping, watching TV, playing badminton, and listening to music. Our favorite singers are 5566, SHE, and Jolin. I like them very much. Sometimes we like to listen to their music on my CD player. My school is beautiful. There are a swimming pool, a garden, computer classrooms, music classrooms, scouting classrooms and a big playground in our school. We go to school at seven fifteen. We go home at four o’clock. We don’t go to school on Saturdays and Sundays. And we wear uniform. We clean our classroom twice every day. And our first semester is from September to January, the second one is from late February to June. We have a summer vacation in July and August, and a winter vacation before the second term begins. After school, we like to go to the library. There are many exciting books. In the library, we can read newspaper, borrow books and use computers. I like my school life very much. How about you? Can you tell us about you school? Enclosed are the photos of us and the Chinese couplets. Before the Chinese New Year, we hang the Chinese couplets on the door and hope for good luck throughout the year. We wrote the characters with a Chinese brush ourselves. Hi~ my friends: I always listen to music every day. Because listening to music makes me relaxed. When I feel sad, listening to music makes me feel better. When I feel bored, I also listen to music. So there are many CDs in my room like Chinese, English, Taiwanese and more. I like music so much. There are many different kinds of music in the world, such as rave, rock and roll, dancing music, pop music and classical music. What kind of music do you like? I like rock and roll and pop music best. But rock and roll is more exciting than pop music, so rock and roll is my first favorite music. My favorite singers are "Lee William" and "Blue", but Lee William is my second favorite singer. He comes from "Singapore". He is very handsome and his music is very nice. However, my favorite music group is "Blue". There are four people in the group. They are Duncan, Lee, Anthony and Simon. They are from "England". They are very handsome, but Lee is handsomer than the others. Their songs are nice, like "All rise", "This temptation", ‘Make it happen" and more. Lee is the youngest of the four. I like them so much. Do you like them?

Music (2) Hello, My name is ''Amy''. How are you? Everyone likes different kinds of music, such as rave, .rock and roll, .dancing music and more. I like to listen to pop music. I sometimes need to relax on holidays and weekends. If I am bored, I also listen to music. I like Jay, .Jolin, .S.H.E, and .5566.Because their songs are good. And they are very handsome, pretty, cute and friendly. What kinds of music do you like to listen?

Music (3) Music is a good thing for us. It can make me feel relaxed and happy. In my free time, I like to listen to many kinds of music. Of all the songs, I like a song about love best. When I listen to it, I’ll feel sad. Because I don’t have any girlfriends. I want to meet a beautiful girl, so I won’t feel alone every Valentine’s Day. My favorite singer is Sky Wu. His songs are good and he sings many rock and roll songs about love. He is a popular singer in Taiwan. Many young people are crazy about him and I am, too. I have all the CDs of him and there is a poster of him on the wall next to the window in my bedroom. If you want to know more about him, I can tell you many stories of him in next letter. 3. Clothes (1) In Taiwan we wear many different kinds of clothes. Many people like to wear T-shirts and jeans when they go out to play. In our school, we have to wear uniforms. In summer, the boys have to wear a shirt and shorts. The girls have to wear a shirt and a skirt. And all the students have to wear the short sports wear. In winter, all the students wear pants. We also have a vest. Besides, boys have to wear ties and girls have to wear bow ties. For uniforms, we have belts, too. The shirt is white and green stripe. The pants and the skirts are dark green. Sports wears come in three different colors for different grades; they are dark blue, light blue and green. On the sports wears and belts, you can find our school badge. The ties and the bow ties are dark blue. Our school has many different clothes for the uniform. There are also different clothes in our life. Everyone has their favorite clothes. Clothes can tell you something about the person who wears them. So we have to wear cleanly and decently.

Clothes (2) In Taiwan, students have to wear school uniforms to go to school every day. Our uniforms are complex. A set of uniform includes a shirt, pants, a vest, a coat, a belt and a tie. The students in my class wear uniforms on Mondays and Thursdays, and wear sport wears on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. As we know, a lot of your students don't have to wear uniform at school. We envy you a lot. I always wear T-shirt and pants to go movies with my friends. They are comfortable and make me look handsome. In wedding ceremony, the groom wears a suit and the bride wears a wedding gown. If they like the antique Chinese wedding ceremony, they wear red clothes and follow the traditional customs. It’s different from yours, but it is interesting. Can you tell me what do you wear when you go a different place?

He is an excellent doctor, and he is an important priest, too. His name is Mackay. Priest Mackay was born in 1844.He died in 1901.He came from Canada. In 1872, he arrived in Taiwan, Dan-shuei. When he came to Taiwan, he was not very welcome. Many people laughed at him, but he didn’t care at all. He did a lot of very brave things. He lived here for a long time about 30 years. He did a lot of things for people in Taiwan. Now, we have to thank him, because he brought us hope and love. He helped many sick people. He also taught Taiwanese to grow vegetables, such as tomato﹑ carrot ﹑ cabbage and lettuce. He was a brave and great hero.
