Position: Full-time secretary at Collins Elementary - 8.5 hours per day - ½ hour non-paid lunch.

Job Description: Under the direction of the building principal, the Collins Secretary performs a variety of clerical and support work involving both specific routines and broadly defined policies and procedures; greets and interacts with the public, works cooperatively with staff, students, and parents, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High school education and at least two years of experience in general clerical and secretarial work, with school experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Job Requirements: 1. Meet, interact and effectively support students, staff, parents and community members. 2. Office Management: Answer telephones; file documents, both manually and electronically; and prepare letters, spreadsheets, lists, reports, handbooks, bulletins, flyers, newsletters, and tables. 3. Computer software: Use Illuminate; Excel; Word; Google Applications including Calendar, E-mail, Docs, Sheets and Slides; SDS Finance; EdPlan; Aesop; and the District Web Site. 4. Schedule and prepare documents for IEPs and maintain special education student data. 5. Establish, maintain and monitor accurate, organized and efficient electronic and manual filing systems. 6. Compile data and complete a variety of internal, district, state and federal reports. 7. Attend training for professional development. 8. Assist in the administration of medication to students. 9. Process new staff. 10. Prepare and verify staff and substitute time cards. 11. Process staff absences and monitor substitutes. 12. Distribute and collect keys, maintain key log. 13. Place orders, process purchase requisitions, process check requests, prepare deposits, maintain ledgers for internal accounts. 14. Schedule and coordinate events, activities, and programs. 15. Input maintenance work orders for staff. 16. Conform to District policy regarding attendance and absences. 17. All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Building Principal.
