Serving the Servants 1 Cor. 16:15-24

Serving the Servants 1 Cor. 16:15-24

Objective: Learn to serve in submission to all who help and labor in the work of the Lord.

Verse to Memorize: “that you also submit to such, and to everyone who works and labors with us.” 1 Cor. 16:16

V.15 What were the 2 characteristics that Paul highlighted in the family of Stephanas?

______and ______

V.16 What did Paul urge the Corinthians with respect to those who serve, help and labor in the work of the Lord? ______

V.17-18 What was the reason for Paul’s joy that he pointed out in Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus? ______

V.19 & 20 The 1st century church as we have studied began being persecuted. They would congregate in the homes as in the case of the church that was in the house of Priscilla and Aquila. Serving and sharing in our homes is a privilege where our relationship as brothers is maintained.

V.21 Paul mentions that he himself wrote this salutation, however Sosthenes most likely may have helped him write the letter. (1 Cor. 1:1)

V.22 What is the consequence Paul warns to those who do not love the Lord Jesus Christ? ______

3134 marana tha (mä-rä’-nä thä’) of Aramaic origin (meaning our Lord has come)

V.23 What did Paul desire for the Corinthians? ______

______

V.24 Paul finishes this letter desiring that his love in Christ be with all the Corinthians so that they receive with love the exhortations and instructions mentioned in this entire 1st letter.

It is necessary that we be filled with the grace of Christ in our lives so that we can receive with love the exhortations given to us. Without grace, it is impossible to recognize distractions or faults as brothers in the development of the body of Christ which is the church.
