Fourth Grade Portfolio Project Content: Language Arts Skill/Technology- Using PowerPoint to make a two slide project incorporating a self- written poem. Standards: Standard 1 ~ Basic operations and concepts Standard 2 ~ Social, ethical, and human issues Standard 3 ~ Technology productivity tools
Directions:
Open Power Point Choose a blank template and then click on the blank page Go to the top tool bar and choose format and click on background Then click on the down arrow and choose fill effects.(see picture) Choose whatever one you would like. Then at the bottom choose which direction it should go. Then click on apply to all. The first slide will be the student’s name and date and the title of the Poem. To add text students will use the word art tool which is a blue Slanted A. If you do not see the wordart tool you need
to go to the top toolbar and choose view and then toolbars and choose word art. Then choose the design you like and click on it and click ok. In the next screen type Name, date and title of poem. Choose font and size. Click ok Slide #2 On top toolbar go to insert new slide and click ok To add text go to the top toolbar and choose insert text box then click and drag the cursor to the size of the page. Center the text by using the top toolbar and choose the center tool (see picture) Choose font, size and color and then type poem
To insert clipart go to the top toolbar click on insert and choose picture then insert then clipart. On the next screen type in the bar a word that you are looking for then press enter.(see picture) When you find the picture that you like click on it and click on the top page that has a black arrow then click the red x. To resize your picture click on it and click and drag a corner in or out to the correct size. To move a picture click on it and drag it to the correct area.
Slide #3 Reflection page have students insert new slide as directed before And insert a text box and write their reflection about this project.
Have students save their work to their x drive
