14. PELS Views—Ralph Kennel. His comments can be summarized as follows:
1. Is PELS pleased with its affiliation with INTELEC? Yes, we definitely are – we strongly intend to strengthen the topic of energy storage, because INTELEC is the best group within PELS to cover this topic.
As I mentioned before in several e-mails and during our meetings at Incheon, there is a strong interest of PELS AdCom to cover the area of energy storage, especially batteries, by INTELEC. I do not see the need to raise that issue for fundamental questioning again. So far, there is no other major event of PELS covering the area of energy storage.
2. What does the change from TSG to TC mean for INTELEC?
In fact it means an upgrade. Technical Committees are directly linked to our Vice President of Operations. We think this underlines the importance of INTELEC to PELS better than in the past.
3. Would PELS be interested in being a partial sponsor or 100% sponsor of INTELEC non North America conferences?
Yes, we do. We think PELS is the “least American” society within IEEE. Therefore we would like to perform INTELEC as a PELS event worldwide. This does not exclude additional support from other institutions, especially from institutions on-site.
