8:15 to 9:45 am - William Kriegsman, DO “The Immune System” The immune system is a combination of functions of the human body. This system is critical in the effort to protect us from bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, and other organisms. The session will help the attendee to understand the functions of the immune systems, ways that it can be injured, and how to support a healthy immunity. There will be a review of the relevant ICD-9/10 and CPT codes interspersed through the presentation. 1.5 CEU

10:00 to 11:30 am - Margie Vaught, CPC, PCE, CCS-P, MCS-P, ASC-OR, PMCC “Fracture Care, External Causes & ICD-10” ICD-10 will have 668% more codes than ICD-9 and by now you’ve probably heard that more than 50-75% of the new codes are relating to musculoskeletal issues. We will discuss the 7th character issues, place holders and presentation of fractures and how they all relate to ICD-10 code selection as well as CPT code selection. 1.5 CEU

12:00 to 1:30 pm - Suzanne Fletcher-Petrich, CPC, CPC-P, CPC-I “Overview of the CBP Certified Biller Credential” Overview of CPB credential including a detailed discussion of the billing competencies tested on the exam. Includes examples reviewing billing concepts so it is educational, not just information about the credential. 1.5 CEU

1:45 to 3:45 pm - Michael D. Miscoe JD, CPC, CASCC, CUC, CCPC, CPCO “FCA, FERA, PPACA – ALPHABET Soup of Fraud Liability” This presentation will cover legal authorities relating to repayments and disclosures under Medicare and Medicaid; why the FCA has become the DOJ’s Fraud Enforcement Vehicle of Choice; how the FERA and PPACA have enhanced DOJ’s Enforcement Authority; and new obligations for disclosure of overpayments under FERA and the PPACA. 2.0 CEU

10:45 to 12:15 pm - Melanie Witt, RN, CPC, COBGC, MA “OB Coding with ICD-10” This 90 minute session will cover what you need to know about converting to ICD-10 for OB/GYN practices. You’ll learn about the new formats and structure for this new and very specific diagnostic coding system, how to find information under the new system and how to help your providers move into the limelight with better documentation. 1.5 CEU

1:15 to 3:45 pm - Suzanne Fletcher-Petrich, CPC, CPC-P, CPC-I “ICD-10 Case Studies” Participants will have the opportunity to work through a few cases from the AAPC’s 2014 ICD- 10-CM Proficiency Assessment Workbook (purchase of AAPC workbook required, AAPC has given us a discounted price of $50). Answers and rationales will be given, and participants will be able to take home the workbook for on-going practice (100 total cases in workbook). 2.0 CEU
