Posting a Rental Property Listing with the UOIT Off-Campus Rental Listings Service

1. Open your web browser and go to the Student Experience Portal. Click on the Off-Campus Living tab, then click on the Renting icon.

2. Please click on the Landlord Login button on the left to proceed to the login or registration page.

3. If this is your first time posting on the Off-Campus Rental Listings Service, you will need to click on the Registration link on the left. The Registration link will bring you to the New Account Registration form.

4. On the Account Registration form, you must fill in all the mandatory fields (indicated by the *), and then click Submit Registration for your account to be created. If successful, the system will log you in and you will be taken to the MyAccount page.

5. To post a listing from the My Account page, click the Advertise a Rental Listing link.

6. Two links will be displayed in the middle of the next screen. Click the second one labelled Advertise a Listing.

Then click on Post New Listing This will take you to the Listing Detail form.

7. Carefully fill in the information for your rental property, including all the mandatory fields (indicated by the *) and your expiry time from 10 up to 60 days, and click the Submit Listing for Approval button at the bottom when you are done.

This will bring you to the Posting Summary page. (Note: If you have missed a mandatory field, you will be returned to the top of the form and will see the following message)

The following information is needed to complete your posting submission. Please fill in the missing information and resubmit the form.

Below this message in red boxes you will be provided with details of the problem field(s). You will need to correct the problems before continuing.

8. On the Posting Summary page you may view your listing and upload photos of your property (you may also do this later). To upload photos, click on the Upload Images button. Note: Pictures must be in .jpeg or .jpg format and must be under 1 MB in size. You must be using Internet Explorer 6 as your internet browser to upload a picture (Firefox, Netscape, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer 7 are not yet supported). 9. On the Manage Images page, click on Select Images to find the photos on your computer and then click Upload.

10. Once you have uploaded your images and you are satisfied that your listing contains the information you wish, you may log-out. Your listing has been submitted to the UOIT Student Experience Centre for approval. Approval typically takes two business days. You will receive an email when your listing has been posted.

Posting is free of charge until Tuesday January 4th 2011. At that time, additional features such as posting a rental accommodation as one of the Featured Properties will be added.

Now that you have registered an account, the next time you wish to post a listing you will simply need to go to the Student Experience Portal, click on the Off-Campus Living tab, select the Renting icon, and click Landlord Login to access your account. Please be sure to use the same email address and password you used when you created your account.
