PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE San Juan College Dental Hygiene Program, Farmington, NM 2007-Present Director – Dental Program, Assistant Professor  Responsible for the conduct and operation of the Program, the Dental Clinic Facility and community dental education offerings.  Supervises the process of continuous systematic curriculum review.  Responsible for maintaining the Programs accreditation status  Coordinates and evaluates affiliated clinical sites and clinical instructors for optimum student clinical experiences.  Coordinates Advisory Board Committee meetings.  Serves as a liaison between the Program, the College and the Dental Community.  Coordinates and supervises the selection and application process for the Program.  Oversees the development and maintenance of complete Program records.  Developed program goals and long-range planning utilizing outcomes assessments.  Maintains liaison with other departments within the College while promoting good interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships.  Responsible for developing, overseeing and maintaining the Programs budget.  Coordinates evaluation, selection, and purchasing of equipment, educational material, teaching supplies, and office supplies.  Supervises maintenance of clinical inventory  Responsible for the equipment, supplies and instruments within the Program.  Participate in official college meetings, committees, administrative responsibilities, and extracurricular activities as requested.  Acts as a representative of the College and the Program to a variety of agencies, groups, and individuals in the community, the state, and in dental-related organizations. Dental office of Dr’s Ducham & Manz, St Johnsbury, VT 1998-2003 Dentist  Provided caring and comprehensive dental care to a diverse patient population including; pediatric, geriatric, implant, endodontic, esthetic and periodontal surgery  Researched, planned and implemented protocols leading to the incorporation of numerous advanced techniques and technologies into the practice, including: – Implant Dentistry – Computers and associated practice management and financial software – Rotary endodontics – Esthetic Dentistry  Launched a complete reorganization of the offices OSHA, MSDS and safety programs and protocols to be in compliance with state and federal directives.  Developed numerous education lectures for various community organizations.  Enthusiastically sought out and completed over 180 hours of continuing education.  Collaborated with community dentists and hospital staff to establish a dental emergency on-call system cited by the Vermont Dental Society as a model program.  Directly responsible for the management of 3 dental hygienists and two dental assistants.

United States Navy 1983-1993 LCDR USN  Completed a 10-year career with the U.S. Navy. Gained upper level Management, Leadership & Administrative status.  Selected from among peers by Commanding Officer as Director of the Submarine Warfare Tactics Department Submarine Training Facility, San Diego.  Spearheaded and successfully managed the implementation of curriculum for over 50 new courses taught to officers and crews of the US Navy’s Submarine Fleet.  Selected as the only Officer in the Pacific fleet to provide Arctic warfare training.  Was directly responsible for assessing and implementing the tactical training needs for deploying submarines.  Hand picked to orchestrate and implement a joint training program for the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force Submarine Fleet.  Completed a rigorous program in Advanced Classroom Instruction, Curriculum Development, Management & Leadership to be certified a Master Training Specialist  Safely Navigated over a half-million miles submerged in Nuclear Submarines, including over 30,000 miles of operations beneath the polar ice cap.  Conducted two prolonged Submarine Deployments, which were both classified as vital to the security of the United States.
