BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE FOR DECEMBER WEEK 3 SUBJECT: 5 BLESSINGS IN HIS NAME – PART 2

DIRECTIVES FOR THE TEACHER

All Bible study class teachers should personally study the outline in preparation for the cell meeting. During the meeting, please ensure your members have their Bibles and all the Scriptures in the outline are read; members have to look into their Bibles while the Scriptures are being read. In addition, don’t rush through the subject as you teach; remember that our intention is to have every member of the class understand the subject matter so that they can understand what the Bible teaches on the subject, and can become acquainted with the Scriptures.

5 BLESSINGS IN HIS NAME – PART 2

Today, we will continue our study on ‘5 Blessings in His Name’.

In our last Bible Study Class, we discussed the first 3 Blessings that are available in the name of Jesus. INSTRUCTION: ask every member of the class to say what they learnt from the last Bible Study Class and how it has impacted their life. In this Class, we would continue our study on ‘5 Blessings in His name’ bearing in mind what we learnt in our first class. In our last class, we studied the following points: Number One: There is Repentance in the Name of Jesus Number Two: In His name I have Remission and Forgiveness. Number Three: Eternal Life has been given to all that believe in the name of Jesus.

Today, we would complete our study on the Topic- ‘5 Blessings in His Name’ as we learn the remaining two blessings which are: Healing and Health The Holy Spirit and His Ministry

HEALING AND HEALTH

3 John 1:2(KJV): “ Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

The Bibles tells us in Acts Chapter 3 how Peter and John (the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ) met a man that was lame from his mother’s womb, begging for alms, as they were going into the temple called beautiful, at the hour of prayer. Acts 3:6 (KJV): “then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God”. Oh what a testimony!

Peter tells us how the miracle was achieved in Acts 3:16 “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know; yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all”. There's healing and there is health in the name of Jesus; the man not only got healed he was also blessed with health and perfect soundness. Healing is good but to live in divine health is better.

When you got born again, you received the life and nature of God into you spirit. 1 Peter 1:23:- “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever”. This life is not subject to sickness, disease or infection. Divine healing and health is your inheritance in Christ.

Refuse to be sick. Don’t say, “But there are some normal sicknesses”; there is no sickness that is normal. It makes no difference if you feel pain or symptoms of sickness in your body, stand your ground in faith. God cares about you and wants you to live healthy and strong

THE HOLY GHOST AND HIS MINISTRY

John 14:26 (KJV): “But the Comforter. Which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you”

The Holy Spirit comes in the name of Jesus. The Holy Spirit made everything in the world and is God Himself. This is the same spirit that raised Christ up from the dead, the same Spirit that enabled Jesus to effectively carry out his ministry on earth. Now this same Spirit has been given to us as a gift in the name of Jesus.

In our further study of the Holy Spirit and His Ministry, we would look at 5 things we can do through the Holy Spirit; these are:

We receive Him into our house (our bodies) and we have become the habitation of God. 1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV): “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you”. Romans 8:11 (KJV): “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

We Minister through the Holy Ghost: Acts 1:8 (KJV): “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.

1 Peter 4:11 (KJV): “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

We have True Hope through the Holy Ghost: John 16:13 (KJV): “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come”. Romans 15:13 (KJV): “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost”. 1 John3:2-3 (KJV): Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

We have Control through the Holy Ghost: Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV): “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, Joy, Peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self- control. Against such there is no law”. Ezekiel 36:27 (KJV): “And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments and do them”

We pray through the Holy Ghost: Romans 8:26 (KJV): “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered”. Jude 1:20 (AMP): “But you, beloved, build yourselves up (Founded) on your most holy faith (make progress, rise like an edifice higher and

higher), praying in the Holy Spirit.

CONCLUSION

The Name of Jesus is the Name of the Godhead; it’s the Name that the Father and the Holy Spirit answer to, Philippians 2:9-10 (KJV): “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth”. That means the Father didn’t reserve for Himself any other Name higher than the Name of Jesus. Therefore, He chose to invest all His authority in that Name.

This name has been given to us as a gift from God. Continue steadfastly in prayer and soul winning, for the time is short. It won’t be long till the Master returns to take His Church out of the earth. Until then, we must continue to dominate this world!

PRAYER OF SALVATION

" O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. I believe He is alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His name, I have eternal life; I'm born again. Thank you Lord, for saving my soul! I'm now a child of God. Hallelujah!
