1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

5.C. Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship. 5.C.1. Finish areas designated by Architect. 5.C.2. 1.6 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS

7.A. Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation.

8.A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.9 SEQUENCING

9.A. Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

1.10 WARRANTY

10.A. Manufacturer warrants products for fifteen years from date of purchase by original user. Unit shall be used according to designed purpose and that failure is not caused by misuse, neglect, accident, or improper maintenance. Manufacturer will repair or replace on a prorated basis all parts which fail aforesaid. All freight and installation charges are to be paid by user.

2.10 TREE GRATES AND TREE GUARDS

10.A. Tree Grate: The two-piece tree grate will protect the soil around your tree from compressing while letting in available moisture. The soil will not be tracked outside of the designated area with a tree grate in place. Provided in a standard 44 inches x 44 inches (1118 mm by 1118 mm) size and custom sizes as indicated or scheduled..

2.11 COATING

11.A. Material: Plastisol (PVC) shall have: 11.A.1. Antimicrobial (non-leaching) to help prevent microbiological attack on the plastisol (PVC) surface that can cause the loss of aesthetic appearance, mildew odors, embrittlement and premature product failure. Testing Data available Per ASTM G21-90. 11.A.1.a. Tensile strength of no less than 1800 psi per ASTM D412. 11.A.1.b. Elongation of no less than 200% per ASTM D412 11.A.1.c. Tear strength of no less than 300lb/in per ASTM D624. 11.A.1.d. Hardness of 90 ± 5 (Durometer, Shore A (Instant)) per ASTM D2240. 11.A.2. Flammability: Pass per FMVSS 302. 11.A.3. UV stabilized: Guaranteed to not show significant fading for 5 years per written warranty.

11.B. Process: Prior to plastisol coating, each part shall be chemically washed, dried, heated and coated in a heat activated primer and dried. After drying, each part shall be pre-heated in a convection oven to a temperature of no less than 400 degree F, dipped into liquid Plastisol (PVC) and cured in a convection oven at a temperature no less than 350 degree F. All parts shall have a coating thickness of .125 inch to .25 inch (3 mm to 6 mm).

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

1.A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

1.B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

2.A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

2.B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions. 12 93 00-13 3.3 INSTALLATION

3.A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.

3.B. Anchor bolts not provided for surface mount or wall mount products.
