The Game:
1. The Career Clusters Jeopardy game is created at http://www.jeopardygame.com and will be played on the Smart Board.
2. Three students will be selected to administer the game: Host, Scorekeeper, and a Game Controller.
The Game Host:
The game host is responsible for:
1. Reading the categories at the beginning of each round
2. Reading the clues
3. Judging the answers (which will appear when the square selected is clicked on)
The Game Scorekeeper:
The game scorekeeper is responsible for:
1. Keeping score for all of the teams.
2. If a team provides the correct response to a clue, they earn the value of the clue.
3. If they answer incorrectly, the value is subtracted from their score.
4. The clues range in value from $100 to $500 in each category. 5. Extra Credit point values for the categories will be assigned as followed:
a. $100 = 1 point
b. $200 = 2 points
c. $300 = 3 points
d. $400 = 4 points
e. $500 = 5 points
The Game Controller:
The Game Controller is responsible for:
1. Running the Smart Board game board
2. Identifying the first team to indicate they know the answer
(whether by a bell/buzzer or raising hands)
3. Clicking on the square selected and corresponding answer
4. Responsible for determining if a close answer should be awarded points.
The Board and Instructions for Teachers:
1. The Career Clusters Jeopardy board is created at https://jeopardylabs.com/done/career- cluster-jeopardy using the same game cards/questions given to the students to create the question squares.
2. To use the board, the teacher will open the website on the computer, insert the password, and project it on the Smart Board.
3. Below each Category on the board, there are 5 squares with an ascending clue value ($100-- $500)
4. Once a group/team has been chosen to go first (by rolling dice), they will select a category and a monetary value (i.e. Career Clusters for $100). The Game Controller will click on the square and the Game Host will then read the clue. After which any player on any team can ring in or raise their hand (whichever method is chosen).
5. The Game Controller will recognize the first team to ring bell or raise hand (to be decided) and the Game Host will then call on that team for a response. 6. The person that rings the bell or raises their hand has only 10 seconds to respond and is the only person that can respond and he/she must answer in the form of a question. The Game Controller will click the Link to show if the correct answer was given.
7. A correct response earns the extra credit point value of the clue and gives the answering team the right to select the next clue.
8. If a player gives an incorrect response or fails to answer in time, the host reads the answer, no other teams are given the option of “ringing” in, and the dollar value of the clue is deducted from the team’s score.
9. The right to select the next clue goes to an opposing team, who will again be selected by the shake of the dice.
10. Clues which have been played will have the values disappear on the squares on the game board.
