Sermon > E = Both A and C. Andrew first found his own brother Simon, whom Jesus called Cephas, which is translated Stone and we now know as Peter.
John 1:41 > “He first finds his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.”
John 1:42 > “And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonah: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.”
2) Which is NOT a title of Jesus Christ used by the Gospel of John? [a] Lamb of God. [b] Son of Man. [c] Son of God. [d] Man of God. [e] Rabbi (Master).
Sermon > D = Man of God is not one of the titles of Jesus Christ used in the Gospel of John. All of the other titles are factual.
John 1:36 > “And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!”
John 3:14 > “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.”
John 5:25 > “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.”
John 1:38 > “Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?” 3) Which is NOT one of the seven “I Am” saying of Jesus Christ? [a] I Am the Bread of Life. [b] I Am the Resurrection and the Life. [c] I Am the Only Begotten of the Father. [d] I Am the Light of the World.
Sermon > C = I am the only begotten of the Father is not one of the seven sayings. This statement may be found in John 1:14. All of the others sayings are factual.
John 1:14 > “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
1] I Am the Bread of Life (6:35).
2] I Am the Light of the World (9:5).
3] I am the Door (10:7).
4] I am the Good Shepherd (10:11).
5] I Am the Resurrection and Life (11:25).
6] I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (14:6).
7] I am the True Vine (15:1).

Sermon > Both C and E = Turning water into wine and the healing the man born blind. Remember, turning water into wine was Jesus’ first miracle and was done in private. The healing of the man born blind was the sixth miracle done to bring glory to God and both are found only in the Gospel of John. All of the others miracles are also found in the synoptic gospels.
1ST > Turning Water into Wine found only in John 2:1-11. 2ND > Healing the Nobleman’s son [combined with the healing of the centurion’s servant] (Matthew 8:5-13; Luke 7:1-10; and John 4:46-54).
3RD > Healing the Man (paralytic) at the Pool of Bethesda (Matthew 9:1-8; Mark 2:1-12; Luke 5:17-26 and John 5:1-9).
4TH > Feeding of the 5000 (Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:32-44; Luke 9:10-17; and John 6:1-15)
5TH > Walking on the Water (Matthew 14:22-33; Mark 6:45-52; and John 6:16-21)
6TH > Healing the Man born Blind is found only in (John 9:1-12)
7TH > Raising Lazarus from the Dead (Luke 10:38-42; and John 11:1-16).
5) What is the purpose of the Gospel of John’s sermon series and bible study? ______
Sermon > The purpose of this sermon series and bible study is to deepen our appreciation for the Christian journey by investigating the life and ministry of Jesus as Lord and by examining the passion and sacrifice of Christ as Savior. That is, it is about getting to know Jesus better. Moreover, our aim is to believe on Jesus as the Christ and our intent is to receive eternal life from God.
John 20:31 > “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
