Position: Quality Technician Department: Quality Reports To: Quality Manager

Location: Owatonna, MN FLSA Status: Hourly

General Summary Statement

This position utilizes appropriate experience and technical training, under the direction of the Value Stream Manager, to provide quality support throughout all processes included in the Value Stream. (ie. die cast, stamping, burnishing, plating, e-coat, paint, assembly, and purchasing)

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

1. Process Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports, and Return Material Authorizations daily, which includes, originating reports, verifying defects, initiating or conducting inventory verification, identifying and assigning corrective action responsibility, informing key staff, creating deviations and determining disposition of the product including identifying the appropriate rework process.

2. Develop and maintain inspection plans for purchased components relevant to each Value Stream, including gaging selection, establishing sampling size and determining frequency.

3. Monitor Corrective Action Reports to insure adequate progress is made in achieving corrective action. Verify the effectiveness of the corrective actions.

4. Collect and compile data, analyze data, and complete various quality reports for internal use and upon customer request.(ie. monthly quality reports, process capability studies, preproduction approval process reports)

5. Review new control plans and gaging for consistency, effectiveness, and completeness.

6. Evaluate and recommend changes to process specifications and product specifications based on defect data and customer complaint information to ensure consistency and efficiency.

7. Train employees on the Truth Hardware quality system, including documentation, procedures, measurement techniques, and appropriate sampling frequencies.
