These children 34 have blessed her with the love and affection of eleven 35 grandchildren, one of whom is our esteemed colleague in the 36 House of Representatives, Peter M. McCoy, Jr., and sixteen 37 greatgrandchildren; and 38 39 Whereas, she served as a registered nurse and retired from St. 40 Francis Xavier Hospital in Charleston and has been a proud and 41 longtime voting member of the Republican Party; and 42

[3598] 2 1 Whereas, a devoted congregant of Holy Spirit Evangelical 2 Lutheran Church in Charleston, she is the oldest member both of 3 her church and of The Citadel Brigadier Club, and, as a 4 seasonticket holder, she never misses a home football game at The 5 Citadel; and 6 7 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of 8 Representatives are pleased to honor this beloved daughter of 9 South Carolina at the celebration of her one hundredth birthday 10 and join with her family and friends in congratulating her on 11 having reached this extraordinary milestone. Now, therefore, 12 13 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 14 15 That the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, 16 by this resolution, congratulates Helen Dorothy McCoy of 17 Charleston County on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday, 18 and the members wish her continued health and happiness. 19 20 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to 21 Helen Dorothy McCoy. 22 XX 23
