Dr. Dipankar Dasgupta Computer Science PDA Fall 2012
I was on Professional Development Assignment (PDA) during the Fall semester of 2012. I have been actively involved in scholarly and professional activities during the period. In particular, I spent most of my time in conducting research and managing a federally-funded project, and supervising and mentoring students in campus. I was also active in three university committees and worked on course recertification application for national recognition of Center for Information Assurance.
My name is listed among the top computer scientists whose h-index is above 40 (based on my more than 200 publications, +4000 citations and my current h-index is 46 and g-index 85), only Computer Science Faculty (in Tennessee and in the Tri-State region). The h-index and g-index are now used world-wide as scholarly stature of a researcher in Computer Science (the complete list at UCLA site: http://www.cs.ucla.edu/~palsberg/h-number.html ).
As per the plan, I did research in the field of nature-inspired computing and its applications -- design and development of intelligent software solutions inspired by biological and natural systems. These investigations resulted in following publications and a few others are in preparation.
