Position Title: Director of Clinical Services – BHU Position Opening: March 24, 2016
Job Description:
Hillsdale Hospital is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to lead the 10 bed in-patient Behavioral Health Unit under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer. The BHU Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for promoting quality patient care and nursing services on a continuous basis, combining knowledge, skills and leadership; performance/quality improvement, communication, scheduling and staff development. The position will directly supervise all RN’s and Psych Technicians.
Position Responsibilities:
• Maintains quality patient care service by planning developing, implementing and evaluating policies, procedures, patient care standards, programs and/or services consistent with the overall goals, objectives and activities of the Behavioral Unit. • Assists in maintaining compliance with state and federal licensing regulations and accreditation programs within areas of clinical nursing responsibility. • Assist with departmental goals, objectives, and budgets in accordance with the Hillsdale Hospital’s mission and strategic plans, working to assure that short-term objectives and budgets are consistent with long-term plans anticipated for the future. • Participates in the development and oversight of quality programs, activities and performance improvement to measure, assess and improve the quality of Nursing/Patient Care delivered to the patients. • Serves as a resource for other Hillsdale Hospital staff and the community immediately addressing patient concerns and perception of care issues. • Promotes a positive image of Hillsdale Hospital in a relationship with other institutions (i.e. Ambulance Services, Hospitalists, transferring hospitals/center), and regulatory bodies.
Position Requirement:
Must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing with 2-3 years of relevant supervisory, psych or administrative experience with preference given to an Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Candidate must possess a valid Michigan RN license. The candidate must submit to comprehensive testing and evaluations prior to placement in the position. The candidate must be willing to work weekdays, evenings and holiday’s as needed.
