Grade/salary scale: £8.56ph
Times of work 16 Hours - Between 1100 – 1900 Term Time only - permanent position
PURPOSE OF POST Working as part of the catering team - in the production and service of food and drinks at Bicton College, East Budleigh
SPECIFIC DUTIES 1. Prepare and cook food for students and staff at Bicton College. Prepare service area, hot cupboard etc for the effective and efficient service of meals etc. 2. Cleaning of the kitchen and equipment. 3. Replenish service area as required. 4. Checking off stock, rotating stock, participating in monthly stock take.. 5. Mop up spillages and remove food debris from floor, chairs and tables after service from the restaurant area. 6. Wash dishes. Put away plates, cutlery etc. 7. Clear tables of dirty crockery and cutlery, wipe tables and chairs. 8. Checking off stock, rotating stock, participating in monthly stock take 9. General cleaning duties in the kitchen area. 10. Comply with food safety, health and safety and EHO requirements at all times. 11. Any other duties consistent with the grade and general responsibilities of the post as may be required from time to time in addition to those listed above
PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications/ Experience Hold a basic food hygiene qualification Have previous experience of working in a catering environment Be over the age of 18 Personal Attributes and Qualities Enjoy working in an environment where there are lots of young people Be able to manage conflict Be customer orientated Have a sense of humour Have a flexible attitude to work and be able to work evening or additional hours as required. Any special conditions attached to the post: As this is a term time only post, the post holder will only be allowed time off during term time due to exceptional circumstances and any hours will need to be made back up as appropriate. Terms and conditions of service: Cornwall College Business Support/Lecturer/Management Spine Staff (see attached summary sheet). Full terms and conditions will be summarised in a contract of employment issued on appointment to the post. Footnotes: 1. In the interests of effective working, the major tasks may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changing needs and circumstances. Such reviews, and any consequent changes, will be carried out after consultation with the post holder. 3.
