Vision: “To Inspire and empower lifelong learners to reach their unbounded potential.”
Dear Parent:
Iowa Law now provides that each school district shall provide instruction in human growth and development including instruction regarding human sexuality, self-esteem, stress management, interpersonal relationships and acquired immune deficiency syndrome in grades one through twelve. Our students will receive the majority of this instruction specifically through the courses of Health I and Health II. However, Fairfield High School has a comprehensive program of instruction and these areas may be touched upon in other courses of study.
A pupil shall not be required to take instruction in human growth and development if the pupil’s parent or guardian files with the attendance center a written request that the student(s) be excused from the instruction.
Course content and curriculum regarding human growth and development are open to review. Parents or guardians will need to request such information from the principal of the attendance center.
If a parent or guardian wishes a student(s) excluded from instruction in human growth and development, then it will be necessary to fill out the form at the bottom of this page and return it to the attendance center.
I do not want my student to receive instruction in human growth and development. Please list the names of Fairfield High School students:
