Dear Members of the Class of 2017 and Parents:

Welcome to Lake Brantley High School! Our Peer Counseling Freshmen Orientation Team is very excited to host your student for the Freshmen Orientation Program on Thursday, August 1, 2013! This is an action- packed day that you don’t want to miss! Participation in the program is essential to the success of each freshman and their smooth transition into high school. The Coordinating Team has worked diligently to plan a beneficial, enlightening, and most of all, FUN day for you. The Peer Counselors are trained and ready to assist you and welcome you.

Students: Peer Counseling Freshmen Orientation

ARRIVAL: Please plan to arrive between 8:40 and 9:00 am for check-in and social time on Thursday, 08/01/13.

ENTRANCE: Main Entrance—Rotunda. Use the East Entrance traffic light into the school. Parents may drop their students off in the circle drive leading to the rotunda OR park in the visitor parking lot.

WHAT TO WEAR? Wear comfortable clothing for walking around campus and plan to have your picture taken for the yearbook and photo ID.

Your orientation will last until about 10:30 a.m.! Directly after Orientation, you will be dismissed to the Media Center for Pre-school Processing! Schedules, locker assignments, t-shirts and planners will be distributed during this event. You will also have your yearbook/photo ID taken, have an opportunity to change your schedule for necessary reasons, and purchase sport passes!

PLEASE DO NOT SEND SIBLINGS, FRIENDS, RELATIVES OR STUDENTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS TO THE ORIENTATION! This program is for Lake Brantley incoming 9th graders only!

Parents: Breakfast at Brantley

While your student is in the gym participating in Orientation, please join us for the annual “Breakfast at Brantley” in the Auditorium Lobby on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. This special event is hosted by the Lake Brantley PTSA! They will treat you to a continental breakfast until 9:30 a.m. and then you will move to the auditorium for our program. Some of the featured topics will be:

 Meet our new Principal!  Tracking student progress – Skyward  Positive Behavior Support initiative  Staying safe and speaking out!  Student Volunteerism/ Getting involved in Sports & Clubs  Guidance Counselors – how they best serve you and your student  The workings of Food Service

Please park in the Visitor Parking lot at the East Entrance to the school. Overflow parking is available in the Senior Parking lot. There will be Peer Counselor representatives just outside the Rotunda from 8:45 a.m. to direct you to the Auditorium lobby. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS: PLEASE CALL 407-746-3404!

Don’t forget Freshmen Pre-School Processing is directly after Orientation! Students that participate in Orientation will receive their schedules first and go through Pre-School Processing beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m. For all others, Pre-School Processing will begin at Noon!

More fun! Food Trucks will be available for lunch purchases from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. All proceeds from this fundraiser go to P.T.S.A.!
