Edelbrock’s ROX Pro-Port Raw Cylinder Head Delivers A Serious Casting for All Out Competition

TORRANCE, CA (August 11, 2011) – Engineered for all out competition, Edelbrock’s ROX Pro-Port Raw cylinder head, #777669, offers a high quality casting that is ideal for extreme circle track and drag racing applications.

The all-new Victor ROX Pro-Port Raw cylinder head is designed for serious dirt track and drag racing competition applications. It has been cast with extra material in the intake ports, exhaust ports and combustion chambers to allow for application specific professional CNC or hand porting. It also features raised exhaust ports to improve flow efficiency and the deck includes extra material to allow fine tuning of the combustion chamber. This head is designed to accept GM SB2 style valve covers. The ROX Pro- Port Raw is the first cylinder head to market that is exclusively designed for engine blocks with 4.5" bore spacing.

The Edelbrock Victor ROX Pro-Port Raw is treated to a Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) process to ensure the finest and most durable casting quality possible. HIP processing is a forming process that combines heat and pressure to consolidate the metal and press out any gaseous material. The end result is a dense casting, comparable to billet material. Resulting in minimal distortion when used in forced induction and extreme duty applications.

They have been cast with extra material in the intake and exhaust ports and combustion chambers to allow professional CNC or hand porting, crafted to a purpose-built application. These heads feature raised exhaust ports to improve flow efficiency and the deck includes extra material to allow fine tuning of the combustion chamber. The high-quality casting is treated to HIP processing for superior casting density and extreme durability. These heads include valve guides and valve seats, but are uninstalled. They accept GM SB2 valve covers. Victor series SB2 is for engine blocks with 4.4" bore spacing. ROX is for engine blocks with 4.5" bore spacing. Engineered for serious players in the world of Ford drag racing, Edelbrock’s SC-1 Pro-Port Raw cylinder head, #770769, offers the highest quality casting available for boosted and nitrous assisted racing applications.

Starting with the “Pro-Port Raw” design, the Edelbrock SC-1 is semi-finished with undersized ports and un-machined combustion chambers. The canted valve design yields an intake valve angle of 7.3° and an exhaust valve angle of 6.9°. A revised spark plug location and angle improves combustion efficiency. The intake flange is extended for use with Edelbrock’s Super Victor #2865 on 9.2” decks and choice of 9.5” deck Super Victor intakes; 4150 series #2860 or 4500-series #2868. A raised port exhaust improves exhaust flow and will accommodate a standard Yates style header. The valve cover rail has been shifted to allow for longer rocker arms and Edelbrock valve covers #4267 are also available.
