Sunday, March 20, 2016 – Kendade 305 – 7 p.m.

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m eastern time by the chair, Meghan Ryan. The members noted above were present.

1. Welcome and Announcements (Meghan Ryan)  Ms. Meghan Ryan brought the SAAC to order.

2. Team Updates  The Volleyball team won against Fitchburg in overtime.  Rowing won their regatta against Williams and Smith.  Cathleen Pruden competed in at the Division III National Championship and won All-American Honors and Honorable Mentions.  Camille Coklow competed in the Division III National Championship and placed 3rd for the Women’s 60 meter dash.

3. Approval of the Minutes (Julia Criscione)  It was VOTED that the minutes of the March 6, 2016 meeting be approved.

4. SGA Update (Clarissa Leight and Nicole Villacres)  The Trans Memorandum has been approved and will be sent to the administration.  Shannon Gurek from Financial Services came to the SGA to discuss the tuition increase. President’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion Update (Meghan Ryan)  Erica Weathers will attend the next E-Board meeting to discuss SAAC’s answers to the questions they asked about how SAAC handles issues regarding diversity and inclusion.  All SAAC members are welcome to attend the meeting to contribute to the discussion.

6. DIII Week (E-Board)  The SAAC brainstormed trivia questions for the Game of the Week: Faculty Edition.  Members of the SAAC will invite Lori Hendricks and Marcella Hall to be MCs for the event.  The SAAC created a schedule for tabling at Blanchard Campus Center, Kendall Sports and Dance Complex, and the Library during DIII Week.  Tabling will include button making.  The SAAC worked out details for the Game of the Week: Faculty Edition regarding professors and lip syncing.

7. Call for Fundraising Ideas (Jessica Taylor)  The SAAC brainstormed ideas for fundraising, including a dance-athon, a 50/50 raffle, laser tag, penny wars, a game of assassin, an awareness walk, and a large slip and slide.  An ad hoc committee has been assigned to determine the feasibility of these options.

8. Admission and Recruiting Subcommittee Update (Molly LaPointe)  Ms. Molly LaPointe explained that the admission and recruiting subcommittee has been working with Admission to get SAAC involved with recruits. They have considered the idea of making a virtual tour of Kendall Sports and Dance Complex for prospective students.  The SAAC took a picture to post on the Admitted Students’ Facebook page.

9. Team Forum Topics (Claire Beckett)  The SAAC discussed topics for the next team forum. These topics include Champion’s Choice team gear, dining, and strength and conditioning programing.

10. Announcements  The squash team will be visiting the Peck School this coming week.  Next Game of the Week: Lacrosse vs. Wheaton, April 6, 2016, hosted by Soccer
