Dear Amherst Parents/Guardians:
We hope you have had a wonderful summer break with your children and are as excited as we are for the new school year! Once again, we are pleased to offer out-of-school time services for our families in the 2014-2015 school year through the partnership of the Amherst Public Schools, the Town of Amherst and two non-profit organizations. These services include the Before School Care Program and the Afterschool Program at each of the Amherst elementary schools.
The Before School Care Programs operate from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Students are supervised by school personnel in the cafeteria and may bring their breakfast, purchase breakfast, or participate in the school nutrition program if eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. The fee for the Before School Care Program is $4.00 per day per child, and an additional $2.00 per day for each sibling.
Our highly-successful Afterschool Programs will continue at each of the Amherst Elementary Schools and we look forward to providing even more enriching and fun activities for our students. Based on enrollment needs, there will be two programs at Wildwood School this year: The Marks Meadow Afterschool Program and the Prime Time Afterschool Program. Capacidad will continue to offer the Afterschool Program at Fort River School and the Prime Time Afterschool Program will serve Crocker Farm School. The fees are as follows:

Based on feedback from our families, enrollment in the Afterschool Programs will now happen at the building level in order to provide a personal contact with the care provides when families enroll their children. Contact information for each Afterschool Program is included on the back of this letter.
As in the past, fee subsidies are available to income-eligible families for both the Before School Care Program and the Afterschool Programs. Esperamos que hayan tenido un maravilloso descanso este verano con sus hijos y se encuentren tan motivados como nosotros por el comienzo del nuevo año escolar! Una vez más, estamos muy contentos de poder ofrecerles a nuestras familias los servicios de cuidado de sus hijos para el año escolar 2014-2015, a través de la asociación de las Escuelas Públicas de Amherst, el Pueblo de Amherst y dos organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro. Estos servicios incluyen: El Programa de Cuidado Antes de Empezar la Jornada Escolar (Before School Care Program) y el Programa de Después de Terminar la Jornada Escolar (Afterschool Program) en cada una de las escuelas primarias de Amherst.
El programa, Before School Care, funcionará de 7:30-8:30 a.m., de lunes a viernes. Los estudiantes estarán supervisados por un personal de la escuela en la cafetería y pueden traer su desayuno, comprarlo, o participar en el programa de nutrición de la escuela para saber si es elegible para tener almuerzo gratis o con precio reducido. El precio por el Programa Before School Care es de $4.00 dólares por niño(a) y hay un precio adicional de $2.00 por día por cada hermano(a).
Nuestro exitoso programa de Afterschool continuará funcionando en cada una de las Escuelas Primarias de Amherst y esperamos proporcionar más actividades enriquecedoras y divertidas para todos nuestros estudiantes. En la Escuela Fort River, Capacidad continuará ofreciendo el programa de Afterschool y en la Escuela Crocker Farm, servirá el Programa de Afterschool Prime Time.
