Applicant Qualifications

1. Applicant must be a resident member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. Applicants attending universities outside of Abilene will be expected to join a church in their university town. To maintain eligibility, applicants will also be expected to be active at PDBC while home during the summer. 2. Applicant must meet the scholastic and citizenship requirements of their respective universities. 3. Applicant must be undergraduate students who attend a university that is a Baptist General Convention of Texas related institution. 4. Scholarships will be awarded per semester. Therefore, applications must be turned in each semester. Please note that applications will be awarded as followed:  1st preference is to students pursuing full-time ministry at a BGCT related institution.  All others eligible students attending a BGCT related institution in any field of study will then be considered. 5. Please be aware of the scholarship awarding criteria. Applications received after the dead-line will not be considered.

Criteria for Awarding Christian Education Scholarship Pioneer Drive Baptist Church (Revised November 2017)

4 1. The scholarship application notice will be placed in the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church Vision newsletter no later than (3) weeks prior to the scholarship application dead-line. 2. Applicant must be a resident member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church for at least one year. Applicants attending universities outside of Abilene will be expected to join a church in their university town. To maintain eligibility, applicants will also be expected to be active at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church while home during their breaks. 3. Applicant must meet the scholastic and citizenship requirements of their respective universities. 4. Applicant must attend a university that is a Baptist General Convention of Texas related institution. Scholarships are reserved for undergraduate students only. 5. Scholarships will be awarded as funds are available according to the following criteria: a. All above mentioned criteria are met; b. First Preference will be given to students pursuing full-time ministry. Financial need will be considered for students pursuing full-time ministry. c. All other eligible students attending a BGCT related institution in any field of study will then be considered. Remaining Scholarships will be awarded to other students on a financial need basis. 6. Substantial attention will be given to the applicant’s involvement and participation in ministry service through Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. The Scholarship Team will look at past involvement at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church as well as current service during college. For example, applicants should be a part of active ministry in areas such as Youth, Vacation Bible School, Children’s and/or Preschool Ministry, and an overall spirit of service to our church and community. 7. Scholarships will be based on need and availability of funds. 8.
