WORK SESSION MINUTES

December 2, 2013

1.0 CALL TO ORDER: A Public Work Session meeting of the Board of School Directors was called to order by Dr. Doug Moore, President, in the Community Room on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 7:00 PM.

2.0 OPEN PUBLIC MEETING STATEMENT

The Pennsylvania Open Public Meetings Law was enacted to ensure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of public bodies at which any business affecting their interests is discussed or acted upon. In accordance with the provisions of this Law, The School District of Jenkintown School Directors has caused notice of this meeting to be given by having the date, time and place advertised in The Times Chronicle newspaper on August 25, 2013 and posted in the Administration Office.

This meeting will now be open to the public for comments on specific Agenda Items only. District residents present at a Board meeting may address the Board in accordance with law and Board procedures and policy. If your comment pertains to students, personnel, litigation or negotiations, we ask that you see the Superintendent after the meeting since the Board does not generally discuss such items in public. Community input at all

Page 1 of 3 January 2014 5 regular, special and committee meetings is limited to three (3) minutes per speaker unless extended by the Board President or by the majority of the Board upon motion by a Board member.

4.0 MEETING PRESENTATIONS:

Work Session Presentations:  State Representative Steven McCarter, representing Jenkintown, Cheltenham and Springfield through the 154th legislative district, expressed his gratitude during School Director appreciation month, to the Jenkintown School Board members who are currently serving the school and community. A resolution recognizing all Board members was presented to Dr. Moore, President of the School Board of Directors.

Business Meeting Presentation:  Audit 2012-13 - Dreslin and Company Presentation by Ron Minninger, CPA.

5.0 APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 Approval of minutes of Work Session from 11/11/13 will be presented for formal Board action on 12/9/13.  Approval of minutes of Business Meeting of 11/18/13 will be presented for formal Board action on 12/9/13.

10.0 RESOLUTION FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION RESOLVED, that the Jenkintown Board of Directors shall meet in Executive Session for the purpose of discussing: None

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the discussion of such subject matter in Executive Session will be disclosed to the public when the matter has been resolved, unless such is otherwise prohibited by law.

11.0 ADJOURNMENT

The Board adjourned the meeting at 8:45 PM.
