PROFILE

I’m self-motivated and hard working. I am able to work independently and face tight deadlines. I work fast but well, I am of a very fussy nature and make sure to always make the right choices at the right time. I have lived in different countries, therefore my knowledge of additional languages isn’t only theoretical but practical as well.

I have now settled in England but keep in close touch with the French and Italian communities here and keep on practicing both those languages on a daily basis.

WORK HISTORY

June 2008- today: Part-time translations whilst looking after my young children for the Italian daily newspaper “La Repubblica”, as well as recipes and texts from different clients.

October 2006- June 2008 : Order Management Co-ordinator in renown American firm Diebold, manufacturing and commercialising cash machines, in Leeds city centre. My role was to manage orders coming from all over the world, especially Italy, Kenya and Ivory Coast. All the orders had to be translated before they could be sent to the Hungarian factory.

June 2006- September 2006 : Administrator in validating contracts for the n°1 mobile company in France SFR, in Aix-en-Provence (France).

May 2005- September 2005 : Linguist assistant of a librarian in an Antique book store in the very touristy city of Aix-en-Provence (France).

February 2003- April 2005 : Regular tour guide for French tourists in India for the well renowned French Tour Operator Nouvelles Frontières. I have been handling groups of up to 22 clients and dealing with day-to-day requirements. The tours took place in North India as well as South India or the Himalaya. June 2001-January 2003 : Public International Relations Manager for a Textile Export company Based in New Delhi (India), KCK limited. It was essential to be multilingual for this role as I was constantly speaking to clients around the world as well as translating all the paperwork for the company.

October 1999- May 2001 : Cultural events manager, like concerts, exhibitions, at the Alliance Française in New Delhi (India). Organiser of the invitee list (including ambassadors) and Public Relations manager for the VIPs on the sites.

July 1998- September 1999 : Multilingual welcoming Hostess in a posh restaurant of the Historical centre of the city of Rome (Italy), Gli Angelletti.

August 1996- June 1998 : Cameraman assistant, in charge of lights, sounds; and translator/interpreter on demand for the Italian channels Mediaset in the Venice Festival and Exhibition, then in Rome for News and documentaries.

March 1996- July 1996 : Translator for a CDRom company in Rome (Italy), Computime, from Italian and English into French.

EDUCATION

Training in Tourism linked professions by the French Tour Operator, Nouvelles Frontières in New-Delhi (India). Diploma (DEUG) in Italian language from the University of Aix-en-Provence (France). Diploma (3rd year) in Hindi language from the University of Rome, La Sapienza (Italy). Certificate of Secondary Education from a French High School, Lycée Cezanne in Aix-en- Provence (France).

Computer literate, good knowledge of the classical applications (Word, Excel, etc…) as well as e-mail and internet.

INTERESTS

Strong interest in Literature, Theatre and Cinema. Indian History and culture.
