THE GLASGOW BIOCORRIDOR – SHOWCASING INNOVATION AND GROWTH Date: Tuesday, 22 July 2014 Time: 9:00 – 12:30 Venue: Glasgow Business Embassy at Scotland House Scotland has a long and impressive track record in life sciences. The country’s national strategy for life sciences is developing an environment where ingenuity and innovation will continue to create jobs and wealth for Scotland, as well as genuine benefits for the global community. Significant in this offer is the newly established Glasgow BioCorridor where partners across the public sector, industry and academia are demonstrating their support and commitment to the promotion and growth of the sector - this spirit of collaboration and access to expertise proves that now is the time to find out how your company can benefit. This Glasgow BioCorridor Life Science promotional event will complement the Scottish Enterprise Life and Chemical Sciences Showcase event in the afternoon. It will consist of: a small exhibition of the some of capabilities across the Glasgow BioCorridor; presentations from industry reflecting innovation and growth developments and will provide the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the Glasgow BioCorridor. 9.45 Innovation in the Glasgow BioCorridor – an industry perspective The new South Glasgow Hospital campus represents a significant hub for co-location and engagement with NHS and academia. Using the Stratified Medicine Scotland Innovation Centre which will be located on the hospital campus, this session will detail the development of the Innovation Centre from an industry perspective – the challenges, the successes and future potential. Presentations from: Keith Bowers, Commercial Manager, Biopta Dr David Sibbald, Chief Executive Officer, Aridhia Followed by Q&A chaired by Professor Anna Dominiczak

Presentation from: Dr Margaret Anne Craig, Chief Executive Officer, Clyde Biosciences Clyde Biosciences Produces both instrumentation and biological products aimed at the large pharma companies and contract research organisations for drug discovery purposes, Clyde Biosciences is one of Glasgow’s most exciting new companies.
