Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries - ACCI is a strong and united business membership organization representing the entire private sector of Afghanistan. It is the service-oriented, independent, and modern Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan. ACCI is a legal independent personality, and the non-governmental, non- Background: political, and non-profitable organization of self-administration of the Afghanistan business community. It protects the rights of the private sector, it coordinates, leads, and supports business activities, and it makes efforts for developing the economy on national and international levels. ACCI strives to provide the best possible services to its members and to the entire private sector of Afghanistan.

Job Summary: Responsibilities

1. To study, assess and follow up the business related laws, regulations and procedures development processes in accordance with the market economy principles and the interest of the private sector. To provide technical and legal advices on legislative documents in cooperation with the Director of the Department.

2. To follow up ongoing legislative processes and the development of business related laws.

3. To have a sound and constructive position in meetings with the relevant government agencies on drafting laws, regulations and procedures in order to support the private sector interests.

4. Obtaining the views and suggestions of the members of ACCI Sectoral Committees on problems in business related laws and regulations, and conforming those views and suggestions with the legal literature in order to foster amendments, reforms and modifications in the prevailing laws through legal procedures. To meet the ACCI Sectoral Committee members, members of different associations and unions of the private sector.

5. In order to enrich the commercial and economic laws, the Laws and Legal Affairs Coordination Manager needs to consult with the foreign and national experts whenever required.

6. To study foreign business related legal procedures and laws in order to update the Afghan business legal frameworks and find solutions for legal challenges and problems existing in business contexts.

7. To provide legal advices to businesspeople on request.

8. Organizing workshops on legal awareness raising and promoting formal and legal business practices.

9. The Legal Affairs Coordination (LAC) Manager shall be responsible to advise the businesspeople on developing standard contracts. As a legal service, ACCI is providing technical supports to the entrepreneurs who are not skilled in building standard contracts; therefore the LAC Manager shall be responsible to review the contracts drafted by our clients and find solutions.

10. The LAC manager shall be responsible to deal with the contracts that are signed between an Afghan and a non-Afghan businessperson or entity which may require knowledge on international business practices.

11. To promote ACCI legal and contract building services among the business community and raise their awareness on the importance of legal advices provided by ACCI.

12. The LAC Manager shall report to Director of the Department, CEO and COO.

Qualification Requirements (educational background and work experience) 1. University degree (at least B.A. in Laws or B.A. in Political Science) 2. At least two years of relevant experience. 3. Good knowledge of Afghanistan Laws, especially the Laws on Commerce, Business and Economic affairs. 4. Familiarity with procedures and rules of drafting, reviewing and analyzing laws relevant to market economy principles. Qualification Skills Requirements 1. Excellent organizational and communication skills. 5. Fluent in Dari, Pashto and English.
