Marketing Beverage Assignment

Overall Task: You are in charge of coming up with a new soft drink, juice, flavoured water, etc. and all marketing elements associated with it. The assignment has been divided into several mini-tasks. The tasks do not have to be completed in order, it has been broken up to help give you guidance.

Task #1: Branding Strategy  Design the following: 1. An original brand name that says something about the product 2. An original logo (any of the types discussed in class) 3. An Original Slogan

Task #2 Marketing Mix Analysis  Develop a marketing mix analysis that outlines the 4 p’s of your beverage and the marketing strategies you will be implementing. o Product: Describe the beverage (What type of drink is it? What does it taste like? What are the benefits of it? What are the features? What is the design of the package? ) o Price: What will the price be? What is this based on? Provide reasoning for how you arrived at your point. o Place: What channel of distribution will you use? Are you going to deal directly with the consumers or use intermediaries? If so, what stores will you place your beverage in? Provide reasoning for your choice. o Promotion: What promotional strategies will you use? What type of advertising will you have? Provide reasoning for your choices.

Task #3 Target Market  Create an information sheet which outlines the following: o A list and brief description of your top three direct competitors o The Consumer Market this soft drink is targeting. Be as specific as possible here. Be sure to include all important information. (Demographics: Age, Gender, Family Life Cycle, Income Level, Psychographics: Lifestyle, personality type, values.

Task #4 Create the product packaging  Design an original package for a new soft drink, juice or flavoured water. o It must have your logo and brand name on it o It must have all required soft drink information on package o I am looking for a combination of professionalism and creativity!
