The basic objective of French II is to help each student continue to attain basic proficiency in the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The focus is on learning the past tense, increasing vocabulary and learning more complex grammar concepts. This course is targeted to the development of novice-mid to novice-high proficiency.

GRADING MINIMUM of 3 major grades per 6 weeks MINIMUM of 6 daily grades per 6 weeks WEIGHT: MAJOR = 60% DAILY = 30% HOMEWORK = 10% Please see website for detailed grading guidelines. TEST DAYS Wednesdays & Fridays LATE WORK PROCEDURE For minor grades: Late one day is 50%, after that, it is a ZERO. For projects-10 points off each day late for 3 days, after that, it’s a ZERO. MAKE-UP WORK When absent, it is the student’s responsibility to look up the work owed on the chart posted on the day he/she returns. ALL TESTS AND QUIZZES MUST BE SCHEDULED WITH THE TEACHER. All other KISD policies regarding make-up work will be followed. A calendar will be available at the beginning of each six weeks. The same calendar, with any updates, will be maintained on the teacher’s website. All calendar information will be subject to change. RE-TEACH PROCEDURE Formal tutoring is available on Tuesdays at 6:45-7:25 a.m. Re-test time with me is Tuesday 6:45 a.m. or Thursday 6:45 a.m. or with another teacher after school. Once notified of failing written or oral test grade, students will have up to 5 days to schedule a re-test by appointment. SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR FRENCH 2R:

1. A WHITE 1” HARD-SIDED BINDER with a CLEAR POCKET on the cover

2. 5 Tabbed dividers with pockets: (Notes, Handouts, Workbook, APT, Quizzes/Tests)

3. 200 count white, wide paper-ruled paper

4. 2 red, 2 blue/black pens and 2 pencils (for scantron tests). (Optional: a ZIPPERED CASE to store them in. Use blue or black ink only in my class.

5. 500-600 WHITE 3 X 5 flashcards (lined or unlined) & labeled with your name. You will show me then take them home.

6. Have on hand for any projects: A flash drive

Optional items: Glue stick, white-out, dry erase pen, highlighters, your own French pocket dictionary (labeled), pencil/flashcard case.

YOU MUST BRING YOUR BINDER & BOOK TO CLASS EVERY DAY!

Your workbooks ONLY will be stored in the classroom. You will tear out the unit we are currently on and put it into your binder. Please label both workbooks with a sharpie.
