MINUTES SHAWANO CITY-COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD MARCH 26, 2012

Present: Roland Dobratz, Pamela Hansen, John Hoeffs, Mike McClelland, Mary Helen Montoure, Deb Noffke, Kristie Wilson, Tom Madsen, interim administrative coordinator

Excused: Geri Van De Loo

Location & Time: Shawano City-County Library, 128 S. Sawyer Street, Shawano, WI; 7:00pm.

Call to Order. President Montoure called the meeting to order at 7:05p.

Pledge of Allegiance. Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Open Forum. Introduction by Tom Madsen.

Approval of Minutes. Approved on motion by Dobratz, seconded by NOffke. Motion carried, all voting aye.

Director’s Report. o New courier routes began March 1. Now branches as well as the main library have daily delivery and transit time is 1-2 business days. o Wittenberg branch librarian is retiring April 1, 2012. o Complete e-book selector training for the state. o Presented at Rotary on March 5 about the children’s summer reading program. Rotary donated $700 for the children’s book giveaway. o National Library Week (April 8-14) activities include: 4 programs for children; 1 for teens; and 6 for adults.

Service Report. 2012 continues to be busier than 2011: 7% increase in circulation, 15% in program attendance and 10% in Internet/WiFi usage. 11% of total monthly circulation is now occurring on the self-checkout machine.

Disbursements & Petty Cash Report. Discussed and approved on motion by Dobratz and seconded by Hansen to approve the disbursements and petty cash. Motion was carried by voice vote, all voting aye. New Business. Followup with Shawano County Corp Counsel on clarification to the proposed revisions regarding the library in the County Board rules.
