MISSION STATEMENT: To enrich the church and engage the community with the power and grace of the good news about Jesus Christ.

MINISTRY EXPERIENCE:

September 2004 to present: Director of Outreach and Evangelism Emmanuel Bible Fellowship (Indep.; www.emmanuelbiblefellowship.com), Olympia, WA; Pastor Keith Krell. Licensed for ministry in Washington State. Tasked to raise the evangelistic temperature of this 55 year old church. Developed opportunities for service evangelism, increasing evangelistic ‘heart,’ and resourcing. Formed and led task force team, coached, equipped, and resourced individual outreach ministries. Performed pastoral counseling (schizophrenics, addiction to gambling, those struggling with suicidal depression, those coming off a life on the streets), pre-marital counseling, and coaching-centered discipleship. Facilitated “Focused Leaders Network” for lay leaders. Occasional consulting/pastoral coaching. Musician for worship team. January 2006 to January 2007: on formation team and Secretary-Treasurer for Northwest Christian Anglers, a non-profit organization. October 2005 to present: member of Christian Motorcyclist Association.

February 2003 to 2004: Consulting for Emmanuel Baptist Church, Olympia (supra before name change). Occasional consulting with senior pastor and elder board regarding new pastoral job role and description, creation of church focus and vision, potential pitfalls and benefits of “seeker- driven” ministry, governing board processes and structures, staff strength deployment, Natural Church Development survey and implementation, worship style evaluation and change management, and leadership development.

March 2001 to December 2002: Consulting for Flipside Church (unaffiliated), Alta Loma, CA; Pastor Kevin Reynolds: consulting and mentoring for Pastor of Small Groups and Assimilation in areas of assimilation, small group coaching model, and coaching curriculum.

September 1995 to September 2004: member Community Baptist Church of Alta Loma (CBA; www.cbconline.org), Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Pastor Rob Acker. Served as Board member focusing on board leadership development and organizational structure. Significantly contributed to restoration of church’s and pastor’s ministry after Seeker-Driven Model melt-down. Men’s Ministry leadership and worship team; created “Equipping Seminars” centering on Inductive Bible study techniques (lectures and email correspondence). Member of Core Team to create model for Adult Christian Education ministry and headed one of nine content teams (Theology); developed ministry team and taught courses in Bibliology, Christology, and Theology Proper. Assisted with creating follow-on studies for each week’s sermon. Pre-1995: Service at several churches: Agoura Bible Fellowship (BGC; adult Sunday School teacher); Grace Baptist Church (Santa Maria, BGC; Deacon), small group administrator, adult Sunday School teacher); Granada Hills Community Church (Missionary Church; Elder); and Whittier Area Baptist Fellowship (BGC, worship service sound technician). Attended and graduated from law school; member of Christian Legal Society as student until present. During college years, went on short-term missions work to radio station KJNP (Calvary's Northern Lights Mission) serving on a faith-support basis; while attending Biola University was privileged to serve approximately three hours per week at Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church (PCUSA; youth ministry). Leadership in Campus Crusade for Christ at local community college. Before college, member St. Andrew's Presbyterian (PCUSA); served as Summer Youth Intern, in leadership in College and High School programs, multi-campus leadership with Young Life, and taught Sunday School (Jr. High and Third grade).

SPIRITUAL GIFTING: While there is plenty to critique in Spiritual Gift assessment tools, there is value in pointing out potential gifting and then testing those tentative conclusions in the context of ministry. My strongest and most consistent gifting seems to be in the areas of leadership, closely followed by teaching and service. Appendix – Past VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
