1.4.2 Delegated-Design Submittal: For glass indicated to comply with performance requirements and design criteria, including analysis data and calculations signed and sealed by the qualified professional engineer responsible for their preparation.
1.4.3 Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets for each product specified, including but not limited to: 1.4.3.1 Performance characteristics. 1.4.3.2 Preparation instructions and recommendations. 1.4.3.3 Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 1.4.3.4 Installation methods. 1.4.3.5 Cleaning methods.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
1.5.1 Manufacturer's Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years experience manufacturing solar control coated glass.
1.5.2 Fabricator's Qualifications: Certified by AGC Glass Company to fabricate solar control coated glass products. 1.5.2.1 Minimum of 5 years experience manufacturing sealed insulating glass units meeting ASTM E 2190. 1.5.2.2 Minimum of 5 years experience manufacturing laminated glass units meeting ASTM C 1172 and CPSC 16 CFR-1201.
1.5.3 Preconstruction Adhesion and Compatibility Testing: Test each glazing material type, tape sealant, gasket, glazing accessory, and glass-framing member for adhesion to and compatibility with elastomeric glazing sealants. Data based on previous testing of current sealant products, and glazing materials matching those specified is acceptable.
1.5.4 Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of glazing unit fabrication and installation 08 81 00-3 workmanship. 1.5.4.1 Install in locations designated by Architect. 1.5.4.2 Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship is approved by Architect. 1.5.4.3 Rework mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
1.6.1 Delivery: Deliver glass in manufacturer's or fabricator's original containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer.
1.6.2 Storage: Store glass in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 1.6.2.1 Store glass in manufacturer's or fabricator's original containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer. Protect from damage. 1.6.2.2 Store products in manufacturer's labeled packaging until ready for installation. 1.6.2.3 Store glass in clean, dry area indoors. 1.6.2.4 Protect from exposure to direct sunlight and freezing temperatures. 1.6.2.5 Apply temporary coverings loosely to allow adequate ventilation. 1.6.2.6 Protect from contact with corrosive chemicals. 1.6.2.7 Avoid placement of glass edge on concrete, metal, and other hard objects. 1.6.2.8 Rest glass on clean, cushioned pads at 1/4-points.
1.6.3 Handling: Handle glass in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 1.6.3.1 Protect glass from damage during handling and installation. 1.6.3.2 Do not slide one lite of glass against another. 1.6.3.3 Do not use sharp objects near unprotected glass.
1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS
1.7.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
1.8 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
1.8.1 Conference: Convene a pre-installation conference to establish procedures to maintain optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.
1.9 WARRANTY
1.9.1 08 81 00-4 Manufacturer's Special Warranty on Coated Glass: 1.9.1.1 Manufacturer's standard form in which coated-glass manufacturer agrees to replace coated glass units that deteriorate within specified warranty period. 1.9.1.2 Deterioration of coated glass is defined as failure of coating, including discoloration or de-lamination, under normal use that is not attributed to glass breakage or to maintaining and cleaning insulating glass contrary to manufacturer's written instructions.
1.9.2 Manufacturer's Special Warranty on Insulating Glass: 1.9.2.1 Manufacturer's standard form in which insulating glass manufacturer agrees to replace insulating glass units that deteriorate within specified warranty period. 1.9.2.2 Deterioration of insulating glass is defined as failure of hermetic seal under normal use that is not attributed to glass breakage or to maintaining and cleaning insulating glass contrary to manufacturer's written instructions. 1.9.2.3 Evidence of failure is the obstruction of vision by dust, moisture, or film on interior surfaces of glass. 1.9.2.4 Warranty Period: ______. 1.9.2.5 Warranty Period: 5 years from date of manufacture. 1.9.2.6 Warranty Period: 10 years from date of manufacture.
1.9.3 Manufacturer's Special Warranty on Laminated Glass: 1.9.3.1 Manufacturer's standard form in which laminated glass manufacturer agrees to replace laminated glass units that deteriorate within specified warranty period. 1.9.3.2 Deterioration of laminated glass is defined as defects developed from normal use that are not attributed to glass breakage or to maintaining and cleaning laminated glass contrary to manufacturer's written instructions. 1.9.3.3 Defects include edge separation, de-lamination materially obstructing vision through glass, and blemishes exceeding those allowed by referenced laminated glass standard. 1.9.3.4 Warranty Period: ______. 1.9.3.5 Warranty Period: 5 years from date of manufacture. 1.9.3.6 Warranty Period: 10 years from date of manufacture.

2.1.3 Substitutions: Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01 60 00 - Product Requirements.
2.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
2.2.1 General Performance: Installed glazing systems shall withstand normal thermal movement and impact loads (where applicable) without failure, including loss or glass breakage attributable to the following: defective manufacture, fabrication, or installation; deterioration of glazing materials; or other defects in construction.
2.2.2 Safety Glazing: Where safety glazing is indicated, comply with testing requirements in 16 CFR 1201 for Category II materials.
2.2.3 Delegated Design: Design glass installed adjacent to walking surfaces, including comprehensive engineering analysis by a qualified professional engineer, using performance requirements and design criteria indicated. 2.2.3.1 Differential deflection of adjacent unsupported edges shall not exceed glass thickness when subjected to 50 lbf/ft (730 n/m) applied horizontally to one panel at any point up to 42 inches (1067 mm) above the adjacent walking surface. 2.2.3.2 Base design on thickness at thinnest part of the glass.
2.3 GLASS PRODUCTS
2.3.1 Thickness: Where glass thickness is indicated, it is a minimum. Provide glass lites in thicknesses as needed to comply with requirements indicated.
2.3.2 Strength: Where float glass is indicated, provide annealed float glass, Kind HSheat strengthened float glass, or Kind FTfully tempered treated float glass as needed to comply with requirements indicated. Where heat treated glass is indicated, provide Kind HSheat strengthened float glass or Kind FTfully tempered float glass as needed to comply with requirements indicated. Where fully tempered glass is indicated, provide Kind FTfully tempered float glass.
2.3.3 Heat-Treated Float Glass: ASTM C 1048, ASTM C 1036; Type I; Quality-Q3; Class I (clear) unless otherwise indicated; of kind and condition indicated. 2.3.3.1 Fabrication Process: By horizontal (roller-hearth) process with roll-wave distortion parallel to bottom edge of glass as installed unless otherwise indicated.

2.4.1 Glass Fabrication - General: 2.4.1.1 Edge and face clearances, edge and surface conditions, and bite complying with written instructions of product manufacturer and referenced glazing publications; and to comply with system performance requirements. 2.4.1.2 Free of foreign substances and air or glass pockets.
2.4.2 Clear Float Glass: 2.4.2.1 Compliance: ASTM C 1036, Type I, Quality q3, Class 1.
2.4.3 Ultra Clear Low-Iron Float Glass: 2.4.3.1 Compliance: ASTM C 1036, Type I, Quality q3, Class 1. 2.4.3.2 Visible Light Transmission: Not less than 91 percent. 2.4.3.3 Provide AGC Glass - Krystal Klear.

3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
3.1.1 Examine areas to receive glass. 3.1.1.1 Verify glazing openings are correct size and within tolerance. 3.1.1.2 Verify glazing channels, recesses, and weeps are clean and free of obstructions.
3.1.2 Field Quality Control: 3.1.2.1 Coated glass, when viewed from minimum of 10 feet (3 m), exhibiting slightly different hue or color not apparent in hand samples, will not be cause of rejection of glass units, as determined by Architect. 3.1.2.2 Verify glass is free of chips, cracks, and other inclusions that could inhibit structural or aesthetic integrity.
3.2 PREPARATION
3.2.1 Prepare openings and substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
3.2.2 Do not proceed with installation until openings and substrates have been prepared using the methods recommended by the manufacturer and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected.
3.2.3 If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.
3.3 INSTALLATION
3.3.1 Install glass in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and approved submittals, except where local codes or GANA Glazing Manual indicate more stringent requirements.
3.4 CLEANING
3.4.1 Clean glass promptly after installation in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 08 81 00-23 3.4.2 Remove labels from glass surface.
3.4.3 Do not use harsh cleaning materials or methods that would damage glass.
3.5 PROTECTION
3.5.1 Protect installed glass from damage during construction.

3.5.3 Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion. Remove and replace glass that is broken, chipped, cracked, abraded, or damaged in other ways during construction period, including natural causes, accidents, and vandalism.
