LEC LAUNCHES TRANSLATE 2007 Features include increased speed, accuracy, and compatibility with Microsoft Vista
WALTHAM, Mass., January 15, 2007 – Language Engineering Company, LLC (LEC) has released Translate 2007, with powerful new features and improvements that make automatic translation quicker and more accurate than ever before. Translate 2007 is compatible with Microsoft Vista and Microsoft Office 2007. Translate 2007 is available in three major versions: Personal, Business, and Professional. Each version is tailored to specific user needs and language requirements.
The Personal version meets the needs of individuals to communicate with family and friends by translating letters, emails, chat, blogs and instant messages. The Business and Pro versions meet the needs of businesses and professionals by offering access to technical dictionaries and providing translation of business documents in several different formats.
New Features and Improvements
• New standard for speed and accuracy in automatic translation • Automatic detection of source language • New add-ins for Microsoft Outlook (Business and Professional versions) and Firefox provide translation of emails and web pages with a single mouse click • Untranslated word list (Professional version) • Includes FREE subscriptions to LEC Translate DotNet and LEC.COM See complete details below.
Each version, Personal, Business, and Professional, is available in more than 18 different language packages. Single language packages include one language pair: English to/from Arabic, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Dutch, French, German, Hebrew (only for Personal), Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian or Turkish; French to/from German, Spanish, or Italian, and Italian to/from German or Spanish.
Three multilingual packages are available: Asian (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean), Euro (Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian), and Magellan (includes the Asian languages, the European languages, and Hebrew).
All Translate 2007 versions include LEC’s advanced user interfaces: • LogoTrans translates text that you type, paste, or drop. • ClipTrans translates any text that is selected and copied. • MirrorTrans automatically monitors another application window and translates whatever text appears there. • TransIt translates a sentence or two and quickly pops it into another application, such as an instant message or chat window.
All Translate 2007 versions provide: • IE and Firefox Add-ins. Translate 2007 adds a translation toolbar in Microsoft Internet Explorer and the Firefox browser allowing translation of web pages with a single click.
The Business and Pro versions include add-ins for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. A translation toolbar is added to each Microsoft Office program, allowing translation from within these programs.
The Professional version includes two specialized applications: • File Trans translates ‘text only’, Microsoft Word, HTML, RTF, PDF, and XML files. • Dictionary is used to create and browse dictionaries.
What this means for users:
Enhanced speed and accuracy improvements have been made to all translation engine dictionaries and grammars resulting in better translations than ever before.
Automatic Detection of the Source Language provides quick, easy translation of multilingual text. With Automatic Selection of Source Language selected, you simply select and copy text, and ClipTrans automatically translates it to your translation language.
Untranslated Word Lookup is available in the Professional version. LogoTrans displays a window listing all words which have no translation in any loaded dictionaries and saves the list to a file. This helps to create dictionaries and improve translation accuracy. The Dictionary program analyzes text files and produces a list of all words that are not in any loaded dictionary, making it easier to add new entries to a user dictionary.
Subscription to LEC Translate DotNet Translate 2007 includes a universal subscription (1-12 months, depending upon the version purchased) to LEC’s unique Translate DotNet service. The Translate DotNet applications are identical to the desktop versions, but instead of using translation engines located on the local PC, they use the very latest versions of each translation engine on LEC’s servers. A Universal subscription allows translation of all LEC languages: Arabic, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Ukrainian, and now also allows translation from Indonesian, Pashto or Tagalog to English.
Additional Subscription to LEC.COM Translate 2007 now includes a subscription to LEC.COM (2-12 months, depending upon the version purchased). The LEC.COM service can be accessed from any computer with a browser and it will be accessible from handheld devices within Q1 2007. LEC.COM provides online translation of text, email, files and web pages for all LEC languages.
