Carpenter II

Purpose

Purpose: To provide journeyman level skills performing carpentry work. Responsible for using power and hand tools in the construction, maintenance and repair of structures, equipment and articles of wood. Essential Functions

Function 1: Perform journeyman level carpentry on projects for housing properties, replacing slab and pre-hung doors, windows, glass, screens, building/replacing countertops, cabinets, replacing floors etc. 70 % Time Function 2: Complete bath, kitchen and office renovations. 15 % Time Function 3: Complete routine Work Orders for maintenance and repairs as requested by residents. 15 % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions

Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: High School Graduation or 3 years experience. 3 years of skilled/journeyman level experience required. Applicants must include in their online resume the following information: 1) Employment history: name of company, period employed (from month/year to month/year), job title, summary of job duties and 2) Education: college or college degree, list school name, degree type, major, graduated or not, and hours completed if not graduated. Preferred Qualifications: Skill with tools of the carpentry trade, including use of power woodworking machinery. May be required to have a valid Texas Operator's License. Accuracy in all phases of work performed. Working conditions are considered acceptable, but occasionally involve exposure to one or more disagreeable elements such as dust, dirt and other hazards of carpentry equipment. Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and to others.
