The Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) is a two-year program designed specifically to prepare future generations of business leaders within the accounting & finance organization. Participants develop critical leadership & technical skills through rotational assignments at J&J business units, in-depth training, & ongoing coaching and feedback. FLDP participants complete 2 rotations just under twelve months, the first at their hiring company (which they return to after the completion of the program), & the other at a different J&J company and in a different functional area of accounting and finance. These rotational assignments are supplemented by 6 weeks of classroom & e-learning training over the course of the two-year program. Training covers all areas critical to success at J&J and is delivered through a combination of resources including FLDP program leadership, key Finance leaders, J&J Executives, & external consultants.

Positions may be available at numerous, different operating companies located in or near Central NJ as well as in or near: Philadelphia, PA, Jacksonville, FL, Warsaw, IN, Cincinnati, OH, Irvine, CA, Raynham, MA, San Angelo, TX and Irving, TX.

All rotations are U.S. based. The rotations are designed to expose participants to the following J&J Business Segments: Consumer, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Corporate, and Internal Audit. Each rotation will provide an excellent learning experience & an opportunity for FLDP participants to utilize their leadership skills & technical knowledge to drive incremental value & change. Additional underlying benefits from company-wide rotations are an expanded network of contacts, a diverse J&J knowledge base, information sharing and the skill sets necessary for future movement across the J&J family of companies. The key to success in J&J is to understand the business & create value-added change in team-oriented environments, all key deliverables for FLDP participants. The FLDP also provides exposure to various functional assignments within Finance. These include, but are not limited to, Sales & Marketing Finance, Financial Accounting, R&D Finance, Operations Finance, Corporate Consolidations, & Internal Audit.

FLDP offers 6 weeks of classroom & e-learning training. The initial orientation training introduces the new class to J&J, its leaders, the Credo, leadership competencies & presentation skills. The courses are taught & led by both internal & external resources. In subsequent sessions, the FLDP participants develop competencies related to problem-solving/analysis, technical skills, business knowledge, teamwork and leadership. These competencies are developed through participation in case studies, simulations, presentations, technical overviews and team building exercises. Participants evaluate all training sessions, so future classes may have an improved training agenda. The FLDP & the J&J Finance community encourage participants to pursue certification in management accounting (CMA) and /or public accounting (CPA).
