2017-2018 Preston High School Band Schedule Full Year

Every attempt has been made to make this schedule as accurate as possible. Subject to changes or additions and cancellations of events and/or times and places of events. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Mr. Manning at his cell phone at 435-764-0731 or email Mr. Manning at; [email protected]. Note: Pep Band rehearsals will usually be held on school day mornings at 7:00am. Some rehearsals on Fridays and Saturdays may be needed. Every attempt to notify students of theses rehearsals in advance will be made. All Concert Band students are required to play in the Pep Band at least four games for each semester.

September 2016

Friday, 1st PEP BAND plays at Boys Football Game, Call Time 5:30pm, Pre-Game Performance 6:30pm. Game Begins at 7:00pm. Game ends approximately 9:00pm. Band Shirts are required

Monday, 4th MARCHING BAND Wellsville Founder’s Day Parade. All Time 7:30. 8:30 leave Preston. 10:00 am parade begins. Lunch in Logan. Return home by 1:00 pm

Friday, 8th MARCHING BAND Field show rehearsal 7:00am – 9:00am on practice field. This practice is Required.

Friday, 15th PEP BAND plays at Boys Football Game, Call Time 5:30pm, Pre-Game Performance 6:30pm. Game Begins at 7:00pm. Game ends approximately 9:00pm. Band Shirts are required

Thursday, 21st MARCHING BAND Plays for Homecoming Parade. 3:00 pm from the Junior High to the High School. Uniforms Required!

Friday, 22nd PEP BAND plays at Boys Football HOMECOMING Game, Call Time 5:30pm, Pre-Game Performance 6:30pm. Game Begins at 7:00pm. Game ends approximately 9:00pm. Band Shirts are required. Required Performance!!

Saturday, 30th ALL-STATE auditions are due. Any student who would like to try out for All-State in Moscow, Idaho on Feb. 1-3 must have their audition recorded and uploaded by Mr. Manning October 2016

Friday, 13th PEP BAND plays at Boys Football Game, Call Time 5:30pm, Pre-Game Performance 6:30pm. Game Begins at 7:00pm. Game ends approximately 9:00pm. Band Shirts are required. Saturday, 14th MARCHING BAND Performance at ISU Marching Band Competition at ISU. General times are from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Exact times will be announced later. This is a required performance!!

Thursday, 26th CONCERT BAND Halloween Concert with High School & Junior High Bands. Call Time 6:30 pm Concert Begins at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium. Halloween Costumes or Best Concert Dress is required. Required Performance!!!

November 2016

Wednesday, 15th GEM STATE HONOR BAND AUDITIONS. Any student desiring to audition and participate in the Gem State Honor Band in January must participate in this audition at Century High School in Pocatello. 5:00pm -7:00pm. Bus will leave at 4:00pm. All-State audition music required. See Mr. Manning for details.

December 2016

Friday, 1st USU TRI-STATE Honor Clinic. Students selected by Mr. Manning. Rehearsal time 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Utah State University.

Saturday, 2nd USU TRI-STATE Honor Clinic. Morning Rehearsal 9:00am – 12:00 noon. Concert 1:00pm.

Tuesday, 12th PEP BAND plays at Girls Basketball Game vs. Idaho Falls. Call time 6:00pm Pre-Game music 7:00pm. Game Begins at 7:30pm. Band shirts are required!!

Wednesday, 13th CONCERT BAND Christmas Concert with Sr. & Junior High Bands. Call Time 6:30 pm Concert Begins at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium. Best Concert Dress is required. Required Performance!!!

Tuesday, 19th PEP BAND plays at Girls Basketball Game vs. Pocatello. Call time 6:00pm Pre-Game Music 7:00pm. Game Begins at 7:30pm. Band shirts are required!!

January 2017

Tuesday, 9th & Wednesday, 10th GEM STATE HONOR & CLINC BAND Held at Blackfoot High School. Participating students will ride a school bus to and from and will stay overnight in Blackfoot. For more details, see Mr. Manning.

Thursday, 11th PEP BAND plays at Boys Basketball Game vs. Century. Call time 6:00pm Pre-Game music 7:00pm. Game Begins at 7:30pm. Band shirts are required!!

Tuesday, 6th CONCERT BAND ISU Band Festival during school time. This is a required performance! Performance time TBA. Concert dress is required.

April 2017

Wednesday, 11th PRESTON BANDS FESTIVAL CONCERT Held at PHS auditorium. 7:00pm. Call time 6:30pm. Best Concert Dress required. Required Performance!!

Thursday, 12th GEM STATE LARGE GROUP FESTIVAL Held at Rigby High School. Performance time to be determined. Best Concert Dress required. Required Performance!!

Friday, 27th USU HIGH SCHOOL BAND FESTIVAL All Concert Band members are required to attend. Performance time TBA. Best Concert Dress is required.

May 2017

Friday & Saturday, 4th & 5th, STATE SOLO. In the Boise area. Students selected at District Solo will participate.

Wednesday, 9th HS BANDS FINALE CONCERT Held in PHS Auditorium. 7:00pm Call time 6:30pm Required performance. Concert Best Dress is required. SENIOR NIGHT.

Thursday, 25th GRADUATION 8:00pm in New Gym. Call time 7:00pm. All Concert Band members required to attend. Concert Best Dress Required.
