You should contact the Pro Bono program manager to find out if your organisation is eligible for assistance. Most firms who offer a pro bono program provide information about making an application on their website. Alternatively, you may wish to develop a partnership with your local private law firm, who may be interested in forging local connections and giving their staff experience working with a community organisation.

The National Pro Bono Resource Centre http://www.nationalprobono.org.au/page.asp?from=7&id=128 The Centre’s website provides a guide to locating pro bono legal assistance.

If you want to recruit volunteers to do non-legal work, either as a one off project or on an ongoing basis, the following organisations might be able to assist you: goodcompany http://www.goodcompany.com.au/ UTS Shopfront http://www.shopfront.uts.edu.au/ Volunteering NSW http://www.volunteering.com.au/

Additional funds:

ShareGift Australia http://www.sharegiftaustralia.org.au ShareGift Australia exists to provide Australian shareholders with the opportunity to sell their shares and donate the proceeds to charity, without having to pay brokerage fees. ShareGift makes its distribution decisions taking into account the suggestions and recommendations by donors.

Karma Currency http://www.karmacurrency.com.au/ Karma Currency is a charitable gift registry at which you can buy (tax deductible) gift vouchers to give to people, enabling the recipient to make a donation to one of the many charities registered with Good Karma. You can register your organisation to be a gift recipient, then encourage your stakeholders to give Karma Currency gift vouchers nominating your organisation as the recipient. Karma Currency vouchers might also be an attractive option as a gift for speakers, staff or volunteers, instead of the traditional bottle of wine!
