The Rowlett Rotary Club invites you to join your friends and neighbors in Rowlett, in displaying the American Flag on the five major holidays of Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day / 9-11, and Veterans Day.

The flags give Rowlett residents an opportunity to display their patriotic spirit, pride and love for our country; and the Flags give the Rowlett Rotary Club the opportunity to provide much need services to many people in our city.

The Flag Lease Program is a service project of the Rowlett Rotary Club. Rotarians are dedicated businessmen and women who provide humanitarian services to people throughout the world. The proceeds of the Flag Lease Program are used to support the Sleeping Bags for the Homeless, VIPS, CERT, the Rowlett Needy Children’s Assoc., Rotary Youth Leadership camps of RYLA and Camp Enterprise, Rowlett Student of the Month Program, Wheelchair Program, Toys for Tots, Rowlett Youth Athletic Assoc., International Stove Program, College Scholarship for Local High Seniors, Christmas Angel Tree Program, and Keep Rowlett Beautiful. You help make all of this possible by supporting the on-going 2017 Flag Lease Program in Rowlett.

When you order a flag, we will insert a PVC plastic sleeve in the ground near your front curb. No brackets or fixtures are attached to your home. On each of the five holidays, a 3'x 5' U.S. flag mounted on a 10 - foot metal pole is placed in the sleeve. We display the flags, store, and maintain them. It is all done for you. The flags remain the property of the Rowlett Rotary Club. This year we are going to fly the flags with pride for the entire holiday weekend. The schedule for this year is as follows:

Memorial Day, Friday, May 26 - Tuesday May 30 Flag Day, Sunday, June 11 - Thursday, June 15 Independence Day, Sunday, July 2 Wednesday, July 5 Labor Day / 9 -11, Saturday, Sept 2 - Tuesday, September 6 Veteran's Day, Thursday, November 9 - Sunday, November 12 Wednesday, September 7 – Tuesday September 12

Proper Flag Care Instructions: Please bring the flag inside each night and put it out again in the morning. Try to avoid leaving the flag out during bad weather. If the flag should get wet, please let it dry completely before putting it out again. Note: Please fly the flag on the last day of the weekend rain or shine. The Rotary Club will pick up the flags and dry them if necessary.

The Annual Flag Lease is only $45.00 for all five Holiday weekends: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day / 9-11, and Veterans Day. If you sign up for the Flag Lease Program after Memorial Day, the charge is only $9.00 each for the remaining holidays of that calendar year. The following calendar year, you will be billed $45.00 annually in the spring before Memorial Day.
