Useful websites ACORN - http://entm29.entm.purdue.edu/acorn/ This is a program at Purdue University that conducts projects with Master Gardeners in the Midwest. Try exploring the Alternative Control Guide (second button on the left side of the screen.) You can input a plant to learn about what pests might attack it. If you enter a pest, the guide shows you some of the pest’s natural enemies and other IPM compatible controls you can use against the pest. If you enter a natural enemy, the guide will tell you what flowers you can plant to attract that natural enemy. However, you need to remember this is information for the Midwest.

Biological Control News - http://www.entomology.wisc.edu/mbcn/mbcn.html A monthly web-based newsletter for homeowners about using beneficial organisms. You can receive it free of charge by emailing the editor, or search their back issues for information on a specific topic.

Featured Creatures - http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/ This is a UF sponsored website that gives you information and PICTURES of insects in Florida. You can search by common name. Try looking up pests that are problems in your yard and becoming familiar with all life stages of that pest. Sometimes the website even includes natural enemies and cultural controls that can be used.

IPM in Florida - http://ipm.ifas.ufl.edu/ This is the official UF website on IPM and biocontrol in the state. A good website to learn about the latest news in IPM for the state. You can find information resources on fire ants, mole crickets, invasive weed controls, and other Florida problems.

The Less Toxic Home and Garden http://www.centralsan.org/education/ipm/hgonlineguide.html A California based organization. This is a very user-friendly website that is light on the scientific jargon and heavy on the practicality.
