Choir Booster Meeting Minutes

Choir Booster Club Monthly Booster Meeting September 17, 2009 Crosby High School Choir Room

The Choir Booster Club met with Choir Director Kayli Jett in the Choir Room at Crosby High School at 6:10 p.m. Members present were Tammy Ward, Veronica Ramos and Ezequiel Ramos.

I. Nomination of Officers

A. President Tammy Ward nominated Veronica Ramos as Choir Booster President, Ezequiel Ramos seconded the nomination. Veronica Ramos was named President. B. Vice-President Veronica Ramos nominated Ezequiel Ramos as Choir Booster Vice-President, Tammy Ward seconded the nomination. Ezequiel Ramos was named Vice-President. C. Treasurer Veronica Ramos nominated Tammy Ward as Choir Booster Treasurer, Ezequiel Ramos seconded the nomination. Tammy Ward was named Choir Booster Treasurer D. Secretary The secretary position remained open until filled.

II. Fundraising

A. Fundraisers Discussed 1. Chilis-Choir Night-10% of Proceeds to CHS Choir 2. Applebees-Pancake Breakfast on a Saturday Morning 3. Carols & Cocoa-Selling of Concessions 4. Carnation Sales-Sell single carnations at all Drama/Choir/Dance Events 5. Homecoming Week-Choir Students Make & Sell Senior Headbands & Halos 6. Homecoming Dance-Take Pictures in front of Background sell for $5 photo 7. Wal-Mart-Bake Sale 8. Fall Gong Show-Entry Fees, Concessions 9. Spring Talent Show (J.J. Worthen to Headline?)-Ticket Sales, Concessions 10. Christmas Caroling at Local Businesses and Homes during Christmas Break 11. Homemade Christmas Ornaments 12. Christmas Lights-Students Hang Christmas Lights for Homes 13. Christmas in the Park-Choir Singing at Community Center with Santa-Pics with Santa 14. Choir Singing at Drama Productions during Intermissions-Sell Carnations 15. Valentine Day-Singing Telegrams

III. Trip to New York to sing at Carnegie Hall (June 11-14, 2010)

A. Discussion of Itinerary & Cost Breakdown 1. Cost for Trip is $1,326 per student 2. Trip Payment Schedule- 1st Payment due October 1, 2009. 3 Cost per student will go decrease depending on Booster Club Fundraising 4. A motion was made by Tammy Ward and seconded by Veronica Ramos to designate $1,200 for the October 1st payment from Choir Booster funds. The motion carried 3 to 0. IV. Upcoming Performances, Events, Competitions

A. Region Competition Clinic at San Jacinto College-September 19th & 20th 1. A motion was made by Tammy Ward and seconded by Veronica Ramos to designate $200 to pay for clinic fees for 8 choir students attending Region Clinic at San Jacinto College North. The motion carried 3 to 0.

B. Upcoming Performances/Events 1. Singing of National Anthem at Homecoming Game 2. Dickens on the Strand Performance 3. Carols & Cocoa Christmas Program

V. Meeting Dates

A. The Choir Booster Club and Choir Director Kali Jett agreed by consensus to meet the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the CHS Choir Room.

B. Next Booster Meeting to be held October 12th.

VI. Adjournment A. A motion was made by Tammy Ward and seconded by Veronica Ramos to adjourn the Choir Booster meeting at 8:00 p.m. The motion carried 3 to 0.
