Date of Notice: January 31, 2017 -Open until filled Position: PATROL OFFICER (FULL TIME) Pay Range $22.46 - $30.58 (14 Steps) + excellent benefits

REQUIREMENTS:

 Provides for efficient and effective patrol of community to adequately prevent, investigate and deter criminal activity, traffic violations & to promote the well being and safety of the Town.  Physical ability to carry out essential functions of position; work with limited direction; deal with others in tactful and respectful manner; communicate effectively both in writing & verbally ; establish working knowledge of all applicable state, local and federal procedure s, processes, regulations & statutes.  Exposure to varying weather conditions for extended periods of time; hazardous materials due to incidents in Town; exposure to blood pathogens.  An Associate's degree with one to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must possess a valid driver's license.  Full/part-time Police Officer Certification preferred and must be 21 years of age or older.  Must be in and maintain sound physical conditioning. Subject to an oral interview, psychological exam, polygraph exam, medical physical exam and extensive background investigation. ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT:

Exeter Police Department is a full-time police agency located in the seacoast region of New Hampshire consisting of 24 full-time sworn officers and handling approximately 20,000 calls for service a year.
