1. Vehicle Disassembly. 10mm Socket Negative Battery Cable (a) For Automatic Vehicles place the Vehicle’s Shifter in Park and set the Parking brake. Battery (b) Remove the Negative Battery Cable. (Fig. 1-1)

6. V5 Harness Installation (Driver’s Side) (a) Route the V5 Harness behind the Center Console towards the Driver’s side. (Fig. 6-1)

(k) Route the V5 Harness toward the Instrument Side Cutter V5 Harness Instrument Panel J/B, securing it to the Vehicle Harness V5 Harness’ Panel J/B RED, BLUE, with 5 Wire Ties. (Fig. 6-9) & *YELLOW Wires *Yellow Wire may not be present in all vehicles. CAUTION: Ensure the V5 Harness is routed Wire Ties and secured so that it does not contact any sharp (x2) edges.

FOR VEHICLES WITH A RED WIRE PRESENT ONLY. (steps o-p) Small Flatblade Screwdriver (o) Remove the Vehicle’s Red Wire from the 26P Connector. (Fig. 6-13) (p) Tape the Red Wire to the Vehicle Harness with Electrical Tape. (Fig. 6-13)

(1) Verify that the Terminal is properly insulated to avoid any grounds. Fig. 6-13

(q) Insert the Terminal at the end of the V5 Harness’ Blue Wire into the 26P Connector. (Fig. 6-14)

(1) Verify the correct opening is chosen.

RED (r) Insert the Terminal at the end of the V5 BLUE Harness’ Red Wire into the 26P Connector. (Fig. 6-14)

(2) Verify the Terminal Pins are properly inserted and do not come out. (s) Press down on the Terminal Lock. (Fig. 6-14) (t) Reinstall the 26P Connector.

Small Flatblade Screwdriver (v) Release the Terminal Lock on the 10P Connector. (Fig. 6-16) (w) Insert the V5 Yellow Wire into the indicated slot on the 10P Connector. (Fig. 6-16)

(1) Verify the correct opening is chosen.

(2) Verify the Terminal Pins are properly inserted Fig. 6-16 and do not come out. (x) Press down on the Terminal Lock. (Fig. 6-16) (y) Reinstall the 10P Connector.

Side Cutter (z) Secure the V5 Harness, to the Vehicle Wires on the backside of the Junction Box with 2 Wire Tie (x2) Wire Ties. (Fig. 6-17)

7. Microphone Installation. Microphone (a) Reassemble the Vehicle, except for the Glove Box Under Cover. (Fig. 7-1) (1) Make sure that all connectors are reconnected. (2) Verify that all the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps. Glove Box (b) Using VDC approved cleaner and cleaning Under Cover method clean the area indicated on the Fig. 7-1 backside of the Glove Box Under Cover. (Fig. 7-1) (c) Remove the Backing Sheet and secure the Small Foam Tape Microphone to the backside of the Glove Box Under Cover. (Fig. 7-1) (1) Do not touch the Adhesive surface of the Microphone. (2) Press the Microphone to the Under Cover firmly. (d) Secure the Microphone with 1 Foam Tape. (Fig. 7-2)

Glove Box (e) Plug the V5 Harness’ 2P Connector to the Under Cover Microphone’s 2P Connector. (Fig. 7-3)

8. V5 Activation Process. (a) Verify that the Short Pin installed. (Fig. 8-1) Short Pin (1) If not install the Short Pin.

Techstream NOTE: Download the latest software from Diagnostic Connector Toyota Information System (TIS). (c) Connect the Techstream Notebook to the Techstream Vehicle’s Diagnostic Port. (Fig. 8-3) (d) Use the Key to turn (or select) the Ignition "ON" position.

(e) Start the TIS Techstream Application by clicking on the shortcut located on the Desktop. (f) Click “Connect to Vehicle.”(Fig. 8-4)

Clear Tape 9. Tag and Label Installation. 10mm V5 Window Label  For US Vehicles use the English Labels and Tag, and discard the Spanish Labels and Tag.

 For Mexico Vehicles use the Spanish Labels and Tag, and discard the English Labels and Align to bottom of Etching Tag. (a) Use Household Glass Cleaner to clean the Fig. 9-1 inside of the Front Door Windows. (Fig. 9-1) (b) Place the Warning Labels on the inside of the

Clear Tape Front Door Windows as shown. (Fig. 9-1) 1-5mm (1) Use a piece of clean Adhesive Tape to lift the V5 Window Label Labels off their protective backing. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. (2) Line up the Labels properly and place on the Other Label Align to bottom Glass. Do not attempt to reposition the Labels of Other Labels once they are placed. NOTE: If Labels are being installed with other Fig. 9-2 Window Label’s align them as shown in Fig. 9- 2.

Key Tag (c) Attach the Key Tag to the Remote Control’s Key Ring. (Fig. 9-3 or Fig. 9-4)

10. Complete the Installations Torque Wrench, 10mm Socket Negative (a) Position the Vehicle’s Negative Battery Battery Cable Cable at the original factory position. (Fig. 10-1)

(1) Tighten the Nut to 36 in•lbf (4.07 N•m) Battery CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Battery Terminal. Fig. 10-1 (b) Clean up and remove any trash. (c) Reset the Power Windows.

(1) Turn the Ignition Key to “ON.”

(2) Roll down the Windows.

(3) Pull up on the Window Switches to close them.

(4) Hold for 2 additional seconds. (d) Reset the Moon Roof.

(1) Press and hold the Moon Roof Button until the Moon Roof is closed.

(2) Hold for 2 additional seconds. (e) Place the Owner’s Guide and Warranty Card, sealed in their protective bags, in the Glove Box.
