Details of Developmental Assignment

1. Title of Assignment: Sponsored Research Program Manager/Oceanographer

2. Level of Responsibility (e.g., GS13, GS14, SES or equivalent pay band): GS-1360-14

3. Host Office (if in NOAA, start with Line/Corporate Office down to the lowest level - e.g., Division or Branch): NOAA Ocean Service, National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research.

4. Timeframe (expected start date, duration, any known time dependencies):

Period of at least 3 months (continuous) beginning sometime during June 2006 - October 2007.

5. Assignment Description (include goals/objectives/expected outcomes):

The incumbent will be responsible for managing projects associated with the NOS sponsored harmful algal bloom (HAB) program called Monitoring and Event Response for Harmful Algal Blooms (MERHAB). The MERHAB program in FY2006 supports 14 ongoing research projects, funding a mix of university, state, Federal, non-profit and tribal partners totaling of approximately $3.6M. A competition for new projects is planned for FY2007. Incumbent also works with HAB scientists, resource managers and responders, across and outside the agency. Incumbent responsibilities include meeting agency grant application deadlines,

Incumbent works closely with NOAA Ecology and Oceanography of Harmful Algal Bloom Program Coordinator and other sponsored office program managers in CSCOR.
