Roaring Deals Available at Downtown Businesses for The Lion King Patrons Food & drink specials and more await those planning an excursion to see Disney’s Broadway blockbuster.

Dayton, June 1, 2011 ― Broadway blockbuster Disney’s The Lion King will roar into the Schuster Performing Arts Center June 14 through July 10, and downtown businesses want the more than 74,000 people who will see the show during its four-week run to feel the love.

The Downtown Dayton Partnership and Victoria Theatre Association have partnered with businesses of all stripes to offer special discounts for Lion King ticket holders so they can feel like a king without spending like one. The DDP’s Roaring Deals web page has a complete listing of promotions for those looking for wild things to see and do downtown, along with parking information and more.

More than two dozen businesses are participating in the Roaring Deals promotion, including 15 restaurants and bars, as well as 10 retail, service and hospitality businesses. In addition, new deals likely will be added later, so tickets holders are encouraged to circle back to the web page for regular updates. Highlights include:

• Citilites― 109 N. Main St., Schuster Center Wintergarden, 937-222-0623: South African wines at all performance bars in the Schuster Center, as well as in the restaurant and at catered events. Daily chef features, such as the "Mr. Pig's Spare Rib Mafe" (pork spare ribs cooked in an African peanut sauce over ginger jasmine rice), with featured vegetable and salad for $18. Also try the Elephant Tails dessert!
